What kind of cologne would you buy for a twenty year old? I'm looking to buy my son cologne for Christmas but have no clue what young men are wearing now days..
Several years ago I went to either Macy's or Dillards (don't remember which) and asked the sales lady to show me the top three (most popular) colognes for men as I wanted to purchase one for my DH. She pulled out three and I picked one. DH has been wearing it since. It's Armani Code Black.
I suggest maybe asking for the most popular ones for young men and see if any of them appeal to you.
I'm very sensitive to scents but my son wanted to wear cologne. I found one at Bath and Body Works called Ocean that didn't give me a headache when used appropriately. It won't break the bank either which is great if he doesn't like it.
I get McGraw for my husband and my teenage daughter liked the smell so much she got some for her boyfriend (they are twenty). My sixteen year old daughter loves the smell so much that she sometimes sprays it on herself. It is very nice smelling not over powering at all.
Sephora usually has a set of miniature bottles of various types. It comes with a voucher for the larger version of any of the bottles in the pack. Dh got this for Christmas a few years ago and it was an excellent way for him to try out a few scents, pick the one he liked most and then he got a free bottle of it.
Just checked and there is a set on the website for $60 called the Cologne Sampler - Sephora favorites. 12 samples and a voucher for a free full sized cologne.
When my son decided he wanted to start wearing cologne I started him out with Axe body spray. Three years later, he's 16 now, he still uses the Axe spray, but now he's all fancy combining it with the axe deodorant and shower gel for the complete scent. He likes it, and I like the price.
Axe is terrible from Day 1 of it being on the market. I am not sure how they are still in business. I think it came out when my 22 and 20 year old were in middle school and boys hated it then. My 11 and 12 year old were making fun of Axe at publix the other day. It's not a scent anyone wants and is way too overpowering.
