What are you most looking forward to at college? Just everything honestly. Except leaving my family. I will only be two hours away from home, so really I am just ready to "start" my life. you know?

Are you nervous? Yes, extremly. But I am also extremly excited.


What's your favorite class? I have a feeling I will really love my Speech class. But I also liked my Western Humanities class. It was so easy, and the people in there were amazing.
What's your favorite thing about college? Being more independent. Everything was in your hands, and there was no excuses. It kept me on top of things.
How does it compare to high school? The teachers don't care at all, but the ones I had were not "mean" you know? Your grade, was your grade, you either studied or you didn't. Plus the people in there were from all different backgrounds, and didn't try to "fit in". It was much easier to talk with them and meet new people.
What was your first day like? Boring. In my first class I sat in the back with two girls I met, and we made fun of the teacher. haha.

So I walked around my campus today, it made me about 100 times more nervous. First of all, it's the day before winter break so there was NOBODY around. And secondly, it's so big and I only have like 10 minutes between some of my classes.

And now I'm crazy nervous about little stuff. Like what kind of supplies will I need? How am I going to carry about 4 different books?! What will the teachers/students/etc be like (because so far the advisors aren't the nicest people in the world).

So I'm nervous and about to lose my mind.

How does it compare to high school? Harder, less personal involvement with teachers.
What was your first day like? I was scared! I was sitting outside on a bench before my first class about to be in tears because I was so nervous. But I survived!!!

10 minutes is not enough time to walk across campus (I've done it before)! You'll probably need most of the same things you had in high school...notebooks, folders, binders, etc. Use a bookbag to carry your books. You could also use a tote type bag but I think if you are carrying several books around it would be easier on you to use a bookbag.

You'll probably have some teachers you really like and some you really don't like. Same thing with students. At the end of the quarter or semester our college has you evaluate each teacher, so if you don't like one you have a chance to speak up!

10 minutes is not enough time to walk across campus

Ahh. I guess I'll have to like sprint then. Unless I get into this class I'm waitlisted for, it's in the same building as the class before. Otherwise I'll have to run pretty much across campus to get to music appreciation.

But that's the only thing that is ten minutes apart. The bad thing is that you can either have 10 minutes between classes or an hour (2 hours, 3 hours,etc). There's nothing inbetween.

I just looked at my schedule and I guess I'm lucky because 2 of my classes are actually in the exact same room.
