I posted this on community board but since most people probably use them in the resort, I thought I would post here as well. If not appropriate, please delete.

I am thinking of buying the Coleman 40QT Thermoelectric cooler to use at WDW and other trips as well. We have a 2 month old and he will be 5 months when we go back to WDW and I am looking at a way to keep formula cold while traveling and while in resort. Who has one of these and what do you think of them? Do you think they would keep baby formula and milk cold enough?

Thanks!!

We have one, that we use mainly for camping but also use in hotls, yes it will keep the formula cold. Those cooler are terrific, we also use them in the summer when we go grocery shopping.

They are wonderful! Just make sure when you buy yorus that it comes with the adapter.

The coolers say they keep items 30 degrees cooler then the enviroment they are in. So if you keep your room aroud 68 the cooler would be 38 which is plenty cold enough.

Also I've noticed the fuller the cooler is the colder it stays.

Coleman does make one that heats also but I'm not sure of the model number.

We purchased one that cools only a few months ago at Walmart for $88 and it came with the adaptor. Used it over Easter for extra drinks and food. Worked great!

Just remember if you are going to use it in the car to plug it in inside the house for about 3 hours prior to travel to get it good and cold and then take it out to the car and plug it in.

We're taking ours when we go to Disney in Sept!

We have one made by Koolatron and it works great. It heats and cools -- just make sure if you get one that does both that the switch is turned the right way!! We made a mistake one trip and what a disaster. Luckily it was on the trip home.

The adaptor works great and we've never had a problem using one in any hotel that we've stayed at.

It has actually saved us tons of money over the years because we always eat breakfast in the room.

Rat Pack I'm going to add to your thread since mine isn't getting noticed.

Does anyone know if Bell Services will plug your cooler in for you? We plan on arriving around 7:00 a.m. I'm pretty sure room won't be ready.

I carry meds in mine that need to stay cold as well as perishables.

I'm sure they would, but if not, the hotel will sotre your meds for you, and give you a free fridge for the duration of your stay.

Some times you get the frig for free and sometimes you don't. I like my cooler because I don't have to depend on Disney's whim.

My cooler takes care of it all. Since we drive we use our cooler for the trip. And with a teenager that drinks 1/2 gal to a gallon of milk a day I don't want to buy milk at the resorts :) This is the first trip we have use the cooler at disney. Before I bought the electric I carried a cooler and refilled ice 2 times a day :(

So I'm not sure about them plugging it in.

Had to laugh about the teenager comment. I have one too and it seems sometimes that if I bought a cow and stuck him to it, it still wouldn't be enough milk. It's amazing the quantity he drinks but at least it's not pop.
