I will never forget it. I was in 3rd grade and every 3rd grader DREAMED of being on Mrs. Masters list of 4th grade students. My memory is vague, but she was murdered but I don't remember the school talking to us too much about it, but back in those days, I think kids were kept out of things. I know I was sad. I was MAD when I found out that I was on her list. She would of been MY 4th grade teacher. I would of been one the lucky ones.
She was out riding her bike with her daughter (same age as me, 9) and husband. She took one trail, and they took another, planning on meeting up. She never made it. This happened in broad daylight. When we moved to Plymouth 5 years ago, we lived 4 miles from the State Park she was killed in. To this day, I will not camp there.
They had a suspect all those years, but did not have the evidence to convict. He died in prison before charges could be brought against him.
ETA: I was wrong about this part, I thought for sure he had died in prison, but he is in fact in a trial NOW. The verdict is expected today.

ETA again: Timeline is off, looked and the realized the article is an archive. Anywho...just watch A&E LOL
If you are interested, watch tonight. I saw it this afternoon, and to see her picture, was freaky. It is the same face I remember from 30+ years ago.
