I chose Coke because I feel very strongly about it over Pepsi. Pepsi is not an option. I do agree with the OP that it is Mountain Dew (also nasty). That said, I would choose Dr Pepper over any other coke (yeah, I said coke. They're all "cokes" down here and not pop or soda) because Dr Pepper is nectar of the gods. ;)

I don't drink sugared soda anymore. And I've cut my diet soda consumption down significantly recently. When I do drink soda, my go to is Cherry Coke Zero or Coke Zero.

On the rare occasion (ie twice a year) I drink sugared soda, I prefer actual cane sugar vs. HFCS. Even then, I like the Coke bottled in Mexico.

If I drink Pepsi, I will drink Pepsi Max or Pepsi Throwback (again... if I am going to having sugared soda).

I prefer diet Pepsi by far. I'll drink diet coke from a fountain but I won't buy a bottle or can of it. I'm trying to break the soda habit and switched to water & hot tea.

For me, it's Coke or water.

My favorite is a Coke from McDonald's. Yum! It's so much better than a Coke from anywhere else.

Their soda is really good!!!!

In order of preference

Cherry Coke Zero ( hard to find in 20 oz bottles though), Cherry Coke, Diet Cherry Pepsi, Cherry Pepsi, Pepsi Next ( if they came out with a Cherry Pepsi next, it would be number two on my list)

If a restraunt serves Coke products, they had better have Dr Pepper, Cherry Dr Pepper, Mr Pipp, or Cherry Coke on the fountain, otherwise its water for me. In the summer, I may get a lemonade.

If they serve Pepsi products, I'll take that, Wild Cherry Pepsi, Dr Pepper, Mr Pipp, Cherry Dr Pepper. But than again, I could go with just water or lemonade.

I'm also an unsweetened ice tea drinker and have cut back tremendously on my soda intake (mostly due to MyFitnessPal). But when I have the calories available to me I'll have a glass of Coke.

Here in Texas (central tx to be exact) we are Dr Pepper drinkers. If I have to choose between coke and pepsi, I will choose Pepsi everytime. I've just never liked Coke. It is too sickly sweet tasting to me.

Though in general I don't drink much soda these days at all. Mostly water and then coffee for my caffeine.

Back when I drank fully loaded pop, I preferred Pepsi but would drink Coke if that was all that was available. Since switching to diet I only drink Diet Coke. Maybe a Diet Dr Pepper once in a while but if only Pepsi products are available, it's water for me.

I love my Diet Coke. :drinking1

I said earlier in the thread that I rarely drink sodas anymore. But this thread is making me CRAVE one! :D

I know! I stopped drinking it on a regular basis several years ago and I think it has been 6 months since I have had any soda and I am very tempted to get one today.

It depends. I'm not a big soda drinker but if that is the only choice, and Dr. Pepper isn't available, I'd take Pepsi.
If I'm adding something to it, like vanilla vodka or Captain Morgan's, its Diet Coke.

I don't drink soda at all. Flavored corn syrup....blech. I never understood the appeal.

I drink water, flavored seltzer or tea.

I don't drink much pop at all any more - maybe one a week, if that. When I drank regular, it was always Coke. For a diet cola, I prefer Diet Pepsi. I only drink diet now when I do drink it, and it's mostly ginger ale, grape, cream soda, root beer, or whatever else I can get that's caffeine-free.

Regular Pepsi or Coke from a fountain only. But my favorite drink is Arnold Palmer Half and Half. :)

I've noticed this too. McDonald's Coke really does taste better than other Cokes. I read somewhere (probably on The DIS, LOL) that they get a special Coke syrup that is exclusive to McD's. Anyone know if that's true?

I had heard that as well but I can't find anything to confirm.

What I did read, and it makes sense to me, is that McDonald's sells a lot of Coke so their syrup is probably fresher than other places. Add to the fact that they clean everything often so that probably helps as well. Lastly, stores and restaurants can control the syrup/water ratio so maybe others add more water trying to save money.

If we're getting fast food, I've been known to go to McDonald's for a Coke and somewhere else for the food. :rotfl:

I don't drink pop, for the most part.

I used to love Diet Coke but pretty much gave it up a few years ago.

I mostly drink sparkling water (club soda), sometimes plain water with lemon, or iced tea with lemon.

On a rare occasion I'll have a Diet Coke, but only a few times a year.

When I did drink Diet Coke, I did prefer it over Pepsi but could still drink Pepsi, I didn't hate it or refuse to drink it if a restaurant had that instead of Coke.
