coffeemakers! what do you use?

I have the Cuisinart Coffee-on-Demand. I've had it for two years and it stopped working (it simply wouldn't turn on). I sent it back to Cuisinart and they sent me a new one.

It's great because you place your coffee mug under the "spout" and press the lever to get a cup at a time.

I had a Cuisinart 975 with a thermal carafe and it cost about $100. It died with only about 2 months left on the warranty. I called Cuisinart and they agreed to send me another one for $10-$20 in shipping. It too died within about 2 years but they wouldn't send me a third one because I was out of warranty for the first one.

So, I am now done with Cuisinart. So, I went with a Bunn BTX-10 instead with a thermal carafe and I am pretty happy with it. It cost about $125. It uses more coffee than I expected, but it's very quick and the coffee is very good. The key is that the water is at 200-degrees and doesn't have to be warmed while making the coffee. I have the coffee maker on a timer so the water doesn't stay hot all day.

We have a Bunn Thermo Pot and I love it. Coffee stays hot for hours without "burning". I like my coffee to be fresh tasting and won't drink coffee that is "old".

right now I am using a $40 Mr Coffee that works great. It has a timer, clock and other options.

Gevalia coffee has a nice looking coffee maker for free as a promotion along with a pound of their gourmet coffee for $14.95. You can quit the coffee service at any time (we have done this several times without any problems) and keep the coffee pot. Their coffee is delicious, but expensive. In our other, richer lives we use to get this coffee regularly..

I hate coffee that has been cooking all day long, too..that burned taste and smell make me nauseous.

Thanks for all these suggestions! I am still looking but in the meantime I bought a tiny Mr. Coffee 4 cup maker at Walmart for $9.

DH and I both drink 1 cup a day. He drinks regular and then leaves for work and I drink flavored. The machine I had was a one that would make 1 cup, 2 cups, or a carafe.
I do need a bigger one too for when we have people over.

I LOVE my Keurig coffee maker. It's the one that uses the little "K-cups" which are available in lots of flavors. It brews 1 cup at a time, so every cup is fresh. No filters, no cleaning out the pot.
The coffee is more expensive than buying a can at the grocery store, but cheaper than stopping for a coffee out somewhere everyday.
:thumbsup2
Another Keurig user. For over 20 years I used a farberware percolator and refused to give in to the drip pots. Keurig is the next best thing. I love a fresh cup every time!

I like Gloria Jeans K-Cups and Green Mountain. My kids love the hot chocolates!:thumbsup2

Another Keurig lover here. :thumbsup2

I kept my old pot for when I have company (a cheapo one)....but if you only drink a little coffee...Krueg is absolutely the way to go. I get lots of different flavors and then there's always something for everyone. I even buy my coffee on Amazon. Two boxes is about $21. I swear, I've saved so much by not buying Starbucks anymore, we've payed for the pot three times over. You can also choose how strong to make the coffee.
another vote for Keurig. Fantastic coffee!!:thumbsup2

Absolutely wonderful.
