Coffee thread made me wonder: Do you have a favorite mug?

What does it say on it? Where did you get it? And do you let anyone else drink out of it?


I actually have three: 2 Disney World mugs (they are both really big...I love that!!) One has the castle on it, and the other is a Happiest Celebration mug with all the characters on it. My other favorite mug is my Carlo's Bakery mug. I stood in line for two hours to visit that place....the mug is what is left of that visit!

ETA: I do let other people drink from them, but I threaten my kids not to break them! LOL

I have 2 favorite mugs as well. One is my Jack Skellington Mug I got last Christmas from my mom. It is a different shape than any others I have and it holds a ton. The other is a Gilmore Girls "Dragon Fly Inn" mug that a friend got me a few years ago while on the Warner brothers lot. It is huge and makes me smile when I use it because I love that show and love that he remembered that I did.

I like your stories. I have 2 and both are from WDW, big surprise One is my Star Wars Weekends mug from 2005 and the other is my Roger Rabbit Mug. I use them because they both just make me smile, and everything tastes better with a smile No-one else ever drinks from them because they a giant.

i don't drink coffee, i prefer tea, but i DO have a favorite mug. the ONLY time in my life i ever got a useful gift from my DB and SIL, they gave me a set (2) of large, cobalt colored mugs from pier 1 (came with hot chocolate mix). well, dummy here broke one, but i use the other mug daily for my tea. i LOVE that mug.

I Have a DL mug I love. & I serenity prayer mug that I took from my dad , it is the perfect size.

I have two favorite mugs at the moment. One was given to my by my son when he was in Boy Scouts and went to the High Adventure Seabase in Florida. It's white with just a small Florida Seabase emblem on the side.

My other favorite mug is also white and has Lifeguard written on the side in red. My daughter picked that up for me near Corpus Christi while on a band trip.

I have 2.
One is a Mom mug and one is a Mickey mug. Both were from my kids. Nobody is allowed to drink out of them! Ever!

I have two... One is a generic white mug that says 'Las Vegas'. I use it only for coffee.

The other is oversized and hand thrown and has palm trees painted in glaze on it. I drink tea and hot chocolate in it!

I have two that see a lot of use - one from the 1993 BSA National Jamboree, and the other is from running the Zoom! Yah! Yah! marathon earlier this year. I don't specifically tell people that they can't use them. . . but yeah, they're mine.

I have one - DH gave it to me last Christmas, bought it at WDW - its a deep yellow color with a classic Donald Duck serving coffee on it, and says 'Disney blend Coffee' on it. It holds way more than it looks like it should, and I love it!

Mine is a Tinkerbell mug and DH made the mistake of drinking from it once! He won't be doing that again!

Mine favorite is from WDW, it says Where Magic Lives and it has a whole bunch of characters on it. I love that its big and I can fit all 4 of my fingers through the handle. Its also off limits to anyone else

I use the insulated travel mugs for my morning coffee-keeps it warmer longer.

My Grandpa had a mug he used every morning. My cousin would go and have coffee with him every morning so when my Grandpa died we made sure my cousin got that mug. He has it on is fireplace mantel.

I used to have one with Snoopy (I love Snoopy!) but I misplaced it. I hope that it's just hiding and not that someone took it.

I have a set of favorite mugs, made by Alewine Pottery in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. They all have the leaf pattern. I rarely use anything else, even though I have a cupboard full of other mugs.

Thank you for reminding me that when I pack up my last minute things to leave the lake this Saturday, I have to remember to take my coffee cup!!!!!
I had another just like it at my DD's, but I broke it last winter when I started to pass out and "it" and I hit the floor at the same time..

It's a Micky Mouse mug from the Pepsi Series Collection put out many, many years ago.. It's made out of "milk glass" - (white, obviously) - and the only kind of coffee cup I can drink from without getting a massive headache (other than a styrofoam cup).. Don't know what it is with stoneware and other mugs, but I just can't drink out of them..

Actually, I might have another type of milk glass mug here that came from my mom's.. think I'll go check..

I have a twinings mug that is very pretty that I got at the UK pavillion in EPCOT. It is the perfect tea mug.

Mine is from AKL - it'a hand painted with a mama and baby elephant on it, with really vibrant colors. I had gotten one very similar on a trip to AKL, and when we got home I discovered it was broken. I called the gift shop, described the mug, and told them I would love another with the mama and baby - it made me think of me and my own little guy. They told me they were all hand painted, so they couldn't guarantee anything. To my surprise, the mug they sent me (my favorite mug) was even better than the broken one - and they sent it at no charge. I love my mug.

I have 2 favorite mugs that were gifts and replaced Mickey . My 'Nana's Lucky 13' mug wrapped w/a picture collage of all our sweet grands and my 16yo DGS recently gave me a mug that reads, 'My favorite people call me Nana' that I love.
