I can not help you with what types but you get one to start with when you check in and they sell them right at the general store at OKW. I am not a coffee drinker so that is all I know.

Mr. Coffee basket filters, not cone filters. The small (4 cup) in the studios and the big ones in the other units.

On a budget, generics are less than a $1 at your local grocery store for a ton, and you'll pay twice that for a few at the general store. A lot of DVC members have a "DVC storage bin" where they put salt and pepper, coffee filters - the stuff they take that doesn't go bad and you can't use up in one trip.

Our "Deals" dollar store has had packs of 5 Maxwell House coffee filter packs for $1, if you have something like that around, look there for some coffee packs.

It's a flat basket regular size(10-12 cup) pot in the 1BR and larger. I think the studios have a 4 cup pot.

I bought paper filters about 5 years ago, and we are still using that same package. I thnk there were 100 filters in the package.I pack enough to be able to make 2 pots per day (not that we always do make 2 pots per day, but just in case someone wants coffee in the evening, it's available). I stick them in a Ziploc bag, and they can be packed absolutely flat.

We just buy the Maxwell coffee packs that are the filter with the coffee already in them. Very easy and conveniient. We have never seen them so cheap as bobbiwoz, though. I wish we had a "Deals" store near us--that is a real deal! If we did , we would use those coffee packs even at home. Now we only buy them for trips because they are quite a bit pricier then buying plain filters and adding your own coffee.

I'm just double checking to make sure I read right....

The coffee makers in the studios....specifically at OKW...are only a 4 cup coffee maker?

If this is the case, then can someone help me by suggesting what to do? I was planning on using wegoshop.com and having them pick up the maxwell house filter packs...much easier and less mess than measuring, but designed for the standard size coffee pots...I guess I could use the ground single packs and get a couple pots from each.

Any help would be appreciated!

momsgoofy, maybe we all have different tastes (strenghts of coffee), but the Maxwell House coffee filter packs that we use call for 4- 6oz cups or 3 8-oz cups of water and they fit in the coffee pot. I really don't remember if the coffee pots hold enough for 2 filter packs at a time, we often just make 1 pack, and if we want to make another, we do. Is your filter pack a larger size?

Thanks for all the replies. I thought it was the 4 cup pot in the studios but I wasn't sure.

If you want/need the 12 cup coffeemaker, just call housekeeping and request one. I'm sure that they wil be happy to accomodate.

If I had to use a 4 cup pot, I'd have to make several pots to get my quota (I drink buckets of the stuff). :teeth:

best wishes -

Actually, I have never purchased the filter packs...we tend to grind our own coffee at home, but I thought the filter packs might be easier to use in the studio. I guess I'll have to check the label next time I'm at the store. I think the 4 cup should work for DH and me...we tend to drink less coffee on vacation than at home...full pot for just the two of us.

Thanks for the input! I'll check the filter packs and probably just go ahead with them for the trip.
