I am sitting here enjoying a cup of 100% pure Kona coffee. Im in HEAVEN! This has to be the best coffee out there. ( IMHO of course)

What kind of coffee are you drinking?
Whats your favourite?

Ah! Kona. One of my favorites, for sure. I also like some of the meduim roast Fair Trade coffees that I get at my local Co-op. Alas, this morning's coffee is only 10% Kona brought back from Hawaii by my non-coffee drinking friend. The 100% stuff is about twice as expensive as the 10% variety, even at the Wal*Mart on the Big Island on the Kona Coast! We stocked up on the real stuff in April :).

Interesting coffee fact:
Medium and Light roasts have more caffeine than dark roasts. The longer a coffee bean is roasted the less caffeine is left.

isnt amazing how much different the 10 and the 100 are Robin?

I have clients going to Waikiki next month Im going to ask them to pick me up some too lol. ( Is that rude? lol theyre friends too so I hope not)

I have a planter full of Kona beans outside and theyre growing like crazy! Hopefully they will keep growing and someday I will be able to harvest them YUM.

I am waiting for my DH to bring me my Starbucks!!! Normally, I just grab my coffee from 7-11 in the morning cause it's close to my gym. I guess I'm not a coffee lover if I get it from 7-11 but it does wake me up in the morning.

Gevalia special blend ! Costs an arm and a leg, but it is so rich and smooth it is worth every penny. We figure if we seldom drink alcohol, and coffee is very important to us, so this is our splurge. We often serve it to friends and they are always amazed at how good it is. But when they ask how much it costs, they decide it is not worth it. I could understand if they could not afford it, but they can. They are just programmed to pay so much for coffee and no more. To me it is like saying I would stick with a local amusement park because it is so much cheaper than Disney.

What kind of coffee are you drinking? Maxwell House

Whats your favourite? Just about any light city roasted coffee bean. For a while I was buying 100% Kona coffee at Sam's Club, but I think that it must have been really old because it didn't do anything for me.

Sadly, my coffee standards have been lowered to the point that I now accept 8 O'Clock coffee as "good enough". I can't remember the last really great cup of coffee that I had.

My 'usual' from the local Coffee Shop is a Large Skim milk Latte' with sugar free vanilla flavoring. YUM! Now that it is getting warm out I think I'll soon try this same but in the iced version.

?? would kona beans planted some where besides kona still produce kona coffee??? isnt it the weather there that makes it better? me i drink folgers,, figured that with the nasty city water we get around here, ( reconstituted swamp wter what it tastes like) and teh cost of " good coffee along wi thbottlesd spring water to brew it" is out rageous,, i can handle folgers . and i thought it took a real coffee lover to drink some of the stuff ppl have available out there that t hey call coffee... i figure if you can drink what our local breakfast spot serves,, ( they are one of those restaurants that will pour three or four partial old pots togehre if they aer rushed to serve to a big crowd. ) Blerck) ya gotta be a hard core coffee drinker:) and the last realy good cup i had was 100% columbian light roast from jackson java kiosk in medical pavilion at univ of miss medical center in jackson,, last friday:)

Right now I'm on my second cup of Gevalia's Chocolate Raspberry. It's not too chocolatey, and not too fruity, it's just right!

i think i need to add that the very best cup of coffee ever is a cup of genuine La chickory blend coffee,, cowboy sytle outa tin cup from a old blue percolator attop a camp fire made from hickory and seasoned oak on the shores of a mountain lake just about sunrise watching the sun peak over into the valley and trn that lake into afield of diamonds in te morning mist,, Thats my all time favorite cup of coffee,, will take that any morning i can:)

Didn't have any coffee today :( I know, it ought to be a crime! LOL My favorite though, is Dunkin Doughnuts! They rock!

I just received my coffee in the mail. I ordered it off the internet. Both my DH and I were missing it...our favorite...Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee. WONDERFUL!

Gevalia Light Roast for me ~ thank you. (But any Gevalia would do!) ::yes::

Starbucks is currently selling 100% Kona for $35/lb., if you all are interested.

My most favorite coffee is Hot Lava Java, which my mother brought back for me from Harrod's of London. It's a super dark roast. I really wish I could get some here in the states.

Otherwise, I like most of the Starbuck's bold blends. I like the recent Komodo Dragon blend. I had Verona this morning.

I love coffee!
My favorite is Baronet. I buy the Ethiopian Yrgacheffe most of the time, it's my favorite. I get it right from their website www.baronet.com.
Tied with that is Valos cofffee...the summer blend is so yummy but harder to get. If you find some let me know. I have just a few beans left!
Borders Books says it will have the summer blend again this summer...maybe:rolleyes: I can't seem to find it online, which is a first for me, I can usually find anything online.
I think Baronet sells a Kona as well, I'll have to order that with my next order, since you say it's good!

Froggy - Your thread reminded me of the cowboy coffee that they used to make at the Yankee Peddler Festival. The group who bring in their wagons used to have a pot or two on the boil at all times. It was amazingly good on a cool September morning.

I remember my first real cup of coffee. In high school, we had a foreign exchange student from Brazil. She made coffee for our speech class by taking equal amounts of ground coffee and sugar and tying it in a cheesecloth which was then dropped into boiling water. The coffee was strong and sweet. Just the thing for a high school student.

When our family visited Belgium in 1997, we frequented a place just outside of Antwerp that served a really great cup of coffee. It's a long way to go for a cup of joe, but I can remember how much I enjoyed it.

So I am looking for a strong cup of coffee made with light roasted beans. Maybe even cooked over an open fire.

Don't they have just the most wonderful flavors of coffee? Never anything overpowering....just sheer bliss.
