Codes/AP/Disney Visa discount & club level??

I have some questions about codes (here's hoping that we get one!!!!).

1. I know the dis will know when there's a good deal. I've tried reqeusting another video, customized maps, dvc info in hopes of getting a code. No luck. Any other suggestions??

2. Do you specifically have to ask during the call if there's a code attached to your name? Like if I call to book, would the CM just happen to mention "Oh look, there's a 40% off code with your name" that they would apply to the reservation if you booked one?

3. Would a pin or code apply to a club level room-specifically at AKL?

4. If I can't get a code or pin, is it possible to get an AP discount on a club level room-again specifically AKL?

5. We have a Disney Visa as well that we're using to pay the trip off with (planning to be paid off before we go!!) Can I get a better rate with that credit card? I've been sure to mention it in every conversation with the CMs.

We already have our stay booked for December and we'll go either way, it would just be really nice to have a bit of a discount. Our dates are Dec 10-14 if that matters at all. We may potentially be bringing my parents (what was I thinking????). If that's the case, we really need a deal as we offered to pay for their room, with them covering the rest of the costs of the trip (maybe we'll treat them to a meal or two but after paying for club level what else can they want?!?!).

We booked club level at AKL for our trip this August. I think we booked in November of 2007. NO discounts at all. Not AAA, not AP, not Disney Visa, not bounceback (we were at WDW in December of 2007 so I called about bounceback several times). I have never gotten ANY sort of a PIN code so I don't know if that would work or not.

You do have to specifically ask if you have a code.

Other people have said they have gotten discounts on an AKL club level room with those 40% off codes, and others have said they have gotten AP rates. I guess it depends entirely on your dates. I do not recommend Aug. 1-3!

Dont give up on the AAA discount. We initially booked the Atrium Club at the Contemporary in August at rack rate because CRO told us there were no AAA discounts available. I called AAA directly to verify this with them and they told me there should be no inventory limitations and that all rooms should be eligible for the discount. They actually called CRO for me to verify this and were told that the discount was in fact available.

I then called CRO back and again was told nothing available. I told them Thank You, hung up and called back again. This time the agent actually checked for me and said that yes, I could apply the AAA discount of 15% to my existing club reservation.

We saved almost $300 just for making a couple of phone calls.

The moral of the story? Dont take No for an answer. Call back a couple of times to see if you get an agent who will try to help you.

Thanks! I have called multiple times and nothing. My AAA agent tried it night by night to see if it was available for part of the time, and she couldn't even get ONE night discounted. She even tried another set of dates later in our trip to see if that would work, and NOTHING. When AP rates come out for the rest of August I will be calling again, so I'll have them check AGAIN for AAA or AP rates on those club level nights.

Those AAA savings might be worth joinging AAA just for the savings. I'll have to keep an eye out for AP or VISA discounts.
