So I am a full year after y'all!!! We are looking at our triumphant return to be Jan 2-9th or thereabouts. 2018. So.....anxiously waiting for the codes for 2017 so that I can hopefully have a 'guess' as to what to expect for 2018. We would go Jan 2 or 3 to 9th or 10th. Hopefully we will qualify for a discount, or stay play and dine....and God willing the crowds will start to calm down

We are going the 4th-11nth! Really hoping about those crowds!

Ended up booking marathon weekend by renting dvc points 2br Saratoga. I've been going at this same time since '09, and the discounts seem to have dried up with the increasing popularity of rundisney. Also booked a sweet deal today for the Hoop Dee doo show, $59 category 1 using tables in wonderland discount. I've never been, so I can't wait!

Wouldn't count on lower crowds...it's an anniversary race weekend (I believe Dopey, but I may be wrong...it's one of them). I already know a lot of people who are putting off this year to go next year.

I'm curious though, which weekend do you think race weekend will be for 2018? Would it be Jan 4-7 or Jan 11-14? I'm running Dopey that year and I'm curious as to whether it will fall during my kids winter break.

After being there for the Jan. for so many years, I'm going with Jan. 7th 2018 as the marathon date.

Edited to say it's always the second sunday of January, but the 14th sounds so late. You might find out by calling rundisney?

Hoping for some 'decent' discounts for January! I am hoping to book January 12-18th as cheap as humanly possible for me and my boyfriend!

Been in January several times in the past and always got free dining, or discounted dining, or room discount, so I am feeling hopeful!

Trying to surprise him for his christmas/birthday present! It will be our last trip we will be able to do in a slow time of the year, since I should be starting to work in a school next fall! It will also be our 10 year anniversary while we are there! I hope the Disney "Gods" are in my favor!

I'm going to go with the 7th. MLK day is the 15th, which is traditionally Star Wars Half Marathon weekend in Disneyland.

Going 4th - 13th. This will be our 3rd trip in January. Love it, as long as there isn't weather here that messes with our flight out.
