Has anyone stayed at the holiday inn at cocoa beach?

I stayed at this property(or was going to) in June of 2003. Found a huge cockroach in drawer next to bed and lots of mold on wall and the carpet next to bed. Even the phone wire was covered with mold. I don't know how the cleaning staff could have missed this. It was so thick it would have taken weeks to get this bad. We checked out before we even got the car unloaded. They were nice enough about it at front desk. No penalties or costs etc. I e-mailed holiday-inn when I got home about that property. They said they would contact Cocoa-Beach and let them know but I never heard anything from them. I would try somewhere else. My kids still talk about that place!

How about the new Ron Jon Cape Caribe Resort in Cape Canaveral? We just booked 4 nights here in April. It just opened a few weeks ago. I read about it in a Florida Travel magazine. It has a huge pool area with a 4 story water slide and lazy river. It is on the ocean also. The website is ronjonresort.com. I would love to hear from someone who has actually stayed here!

Our one bedroom villa (sleeps 6) was initally $190/night. I found a discount code in the Florida Travel magazine that gave me 25% off, bringing my rate down to $140/night. For Easter week, I am very happy with that rate. The code is 102 if you are interested. The website does give the rates for studios, 1 and 2 bedroom villas. There has been alot of talk about this resort on the Disney Cruise boards. Good luck!

The magazine is the Feb. issue of Florida Travel. I saw the add and it said to mention code 102 for a discount. We needed reservations for Easter week. I never thought that a discount would apply for that time of year. I called and said that I read about it in the magazine, and she automaticly gave me 25% off. To tell you the truth, I never even used the code. Many people from the Disney Cruise boards have also used this code and gotten the discount. So, go for it! I just wish that I could hear from someone that has stayed here. It almost sounds too good to be true.
