Thinking of cocoa beach for spring break, my son wants to surf. Any good, nice but not horribly expensive hotels right on the beach?

We stayed at the Marriott Courtyard. We liked it very much! It wasn't horribly expensive but I know prices go way UP for spring break.

I was looking at the marriot, also I just saw something on the Four Points Hotel by Sheraton. Anyone have any info on this? I linked to it on a surfing site and it looks like my surfer boys would like it. I am tempted to jump on it as it shows a suite for 145$ plus tax.

We stayed this summer at the Doubletree on the Beach before our cruise! Very nice property, nice pool, and excellent beach access!

I got in on Priceline line for 85.00 per night in June.

I bid several times, but finally got accepted at 85.00!

Good Luck

ps. I have stayed at the Holiday Inn at Cocoa beach Oceanfront..was NOT impressed!

The seagull beach resort is nice. Not too expensive and right on the beach.

I'd stay away from the holiday inn(I think there's only one), the kids loved the kids pool and it was right on the beach, but the rooms were quite outdated and the vending machine areas and laundry room areas were disguisting.

We stayed at the Sheraton four points on Cocoa Beach this past August for 2 nights. It's perfect for surfers (I think. We are not surfers.) The hotel was nice. The restaurant was good, not great. Big fish tank with a small shark. (My DS 2 loved this). There is a large surf shop connected to the hotel and Ron Jons is next door. The beach is a 5 minute walk. The suite that we had was not what I expect a suite to be. It was one large room and a bathroom. The large room consisted of a "living room" with a sofa (sleep), table, lamps and a whirlpool tub (very strange to have it in the "living room". There is a divider and then the queen bed. The room was clean. The bed was nice. The view was a parking lot. 80% of the pool is covered by the garage. So not much sun. It's a small pool with a spa. My DD 12 felt funny because there is a publice walk way right next to the pool with a clear view of it. If you love using hotel pools, you will not like this one. If you will spend most of the time swimming in the ocean then you'll be fine. If you have questions, feel free to PM me.

80% of the pool is covered by the garage? That sounds awful! I think the boys would love it but I think I will keep looking. The Best Western Oceanfront sounds ok, but I've had some iffy Best Western experiences. Looking at the Courtyard too.

I was told this was a good place to surf. They are surfers...they dont want boogie boards. :confused3 They dont need huge waves (they surfed at daytona, I was told cocoa was good for surfing.

We stayed at the Hampton Inn on North Atlantic this past January before our DCL cruise. It was about a 10 minute walk from Ron Johns and the hotel has a walkway to the beach. The breakfast bar is very good. I would highly recommend it. We saw people surfing also.

thigh high, mushy waves. you can surf it, but there's nothing major there. 16streets.com shows 1-2 ft swells right now.

So is there another beach you would suggest?

Sebastion Inlet at Melbourne Beach can bring in some good ones. Florida's fickle with surfing, the ocean geography isn't like the west coast. that's why the state flips out when there's a hurricane heading in, good surf awaits.

RonJon's in Orlando is working on the problem:
