Do a search on the Orlando Hotels and Attractions forum. I know I've seen this question asked there before.

We just stopped there last week on a cruise. We went to a restaurant/bar called Norman's in Cocoa Village. They had a delicious fish fry!! :)

We rented a condo on the beach in Port Canaveral, which is like 4 miles from cocoa beach from vrbo.com. We watched the cruise ships come and go and could even see them when they were inport from our 5th floor condo. If you have any children, they can take surfing lessons from Ron Jon's, the staff there are awesome. You can take boats out to go fishing or dolphi watching. There is a older airplane museum run by WWII veterans.

without a doubt, you cannot miss KSC

Kennedy space center. 5 min from cocoa beach and AMAZING.

I've been to Cocoa Beach about a dozen times for work. I've always stayed on the northern part of town, along the A1A. The hotels that I've stayed at and liked were: Holiday Inn Express, Four Points Sheraton and Country Inn and Suites. I did *not* like the Radisson, the Hilton or the Hampton. There are a couple hotels on the beach, like the Hilton and the Marriott, which might suit you if you're there on a vacation.

You can't go to Cocoa Beach w/o going to KSC and Ron Jon's surf shop. Unfortunately, the KSC visitor's center is actually like 30 minutes away from Cocoa Beach, you have to drive back to Merritt Island and go north (even though there is an entrance from the Cape Canaveral side, i don't think you can get in that way if you are a civilian). You can't miss Ron Jon's in the heart of Cocoa Beach, lots of souvenirs and beach stuff.

We enjoyed eating at the Thai Place across the street from the Radisson, the Shark Pit (in the Sheraton), the Florida Seafood Company and Fish Lips.

Have fun!

Cocoa Village is a neat place to visit with little quaint shops and restaurants. It is actually across the river from Cocoa Beach.

Our favorite restaurant however is in Port Canaveral just north of Cocoa Beach called Grilles. Make sure to check it out. Great Mahi wraps and lots of pelicans hanging out in the waters there.:thumbsup2

I liked the Doubletree in Cocoa Beach. It's right on the beach, and there is a lifeguarded beach right next to it that you can walk over to, if that's important to you.

You didn't ask about food, but in case you're interested, I enjoyed Pita Garden, Roberto's Little Havana, Siam Orchid, and the Sunrise Diner. Simply Delicious was great too, though they don't serve dinner.

We stayed (in 2007) at the Best Western Oceanfront - 5600 N Atlantic Avenue. Price was reasonable and it was right on the beach, just north of the pier. They have several different buildings on the property, included free breakfast and was close to some restaurants and grocery stores. It isn't a luxury hotel, but was a great beach hotel. Since it has been a few years since we were there, I would suggest reading some recent reviews and see if it is what you are looking for.

We loved Wakulla Suites! It's within walking distance to Ron Jons & right by the beach! Family friendly & spacious. Check out their website!
