I just got a call from AbD....they have cancelled the Coasting the Golden State tour. :headache: We were so looking forward to it. Now I don't know whether I want to try and book another tour. :confused3 They offered an early booking discount for any other tour we chose. Now I'm also really glad I had them book my airfare. At least I'll get a full refund.

What a bummer! :sad1: Is the cancellation for just your date or the particular tour itself? Did they give you a reason for the cancellation?

They cancelled the entire tour. It's not even on the website anymore. I didn't even think to ask for a reason, but there probably just wasn't enough interest for this one. :sad2:

My TA said they were cancelling this particular tour itself based on "feedback they received". Take that for what it is worth. They may tweak the itinerary and offer it again in 2009 but that is pure speculation between me and my TA.
We were offered the early booking discount for any 2008 ABD tour or $500 voucher that can be combined with an early booking discout in 2009. My DH and I are leaning towards the the later offer since we had also booked the Backstage Magic tour later in 2008 and it will give me time to convince him to return to Europe where he spent way too many years serving in the military. It gives me an additional reason to look forward to the release of the 2009 tours!

At least ABD was somewhat generous for causing such disappointment. Did you book your flights thru ABD, like Pixmaus?

i didnt book my flights with ABD. they fully refunded our flight money and offered me a voucher for next year and as a gift are sending a $50 visa gift card for me and my partner.

They really were generous, and it was certainly more than I was looking for. We had not booked airfare since I was waiting for Virgin America who flies out of Dulles to release dates into June. While we were disappointed we still have our Backstage Magic tour in December of 08 to celebrate my birthday.

Yup, same deal with us. Just got the call to let us know. They're not sure if it will be offered next year but the person at ABD said there wasn't enough interest. Such a shame cause we were looking forward to visiting Disneyland. Now we have to decide whether to go on another adventure or cancel altogether. A real bummer!

I'm not real suprised this was cancelled. Disney had (IMHO) two very similar trips. The Backstage magic seemed like the better trip for those wanting to visit Disneyland.
