COACH retail stores

I went over to Knoxville (next *large-ish town, about 30 minutes) last week - a Coach store opened in the mall there - I thought the outlet prices were high!

The girls were all hoity-toity, too, with their little Clinique makeup jackets and everything. (No offense if anyone here works for Coach or Clinique!)

I think I'll stick to the end of season discounted bags at the outlet!

oh that's too bad, here at the Woodfield COACH store everyone is so nice and friendly!! that's why i love to shop at that one only!! Some places can be that way and it drives me nuts!!!

I know what you mean even though I do own a coach handbag, actually 2. One was a gift and one was a gift to me. Anyway, the only store near me is in a semi-wealthy area and I always feel like I'm dirt poor when I'm there. When I go in the store, they immediately look you up and down and check out what kind of handbag you are carrying. The best was when I walked in there with my huge Dooney & Bourke Hobo - talk about death stares!

Look at it this way, they are still just retail clerks (No offense to any of you who do this. I just mean they aren't corporate big-wigs or anything).

They make me think of the snooty girls in the stores in "Pretty Woman"!

I do have a few Coach bags - most from the outlet, and usually carry one, so they (at the outlet) always comment on the bag. I also subconsciously seem to be sure to show my bling when I'm there, too! That's good since I'm usually dressed like a bum, wearing Coach and Bling!

I am sorry you had that experience. I don't indulge much, but I am known to have a weakness for Coach bags. I had a great experience recently at our local Coach store. I hope that incident that you had is isolated to that one store. Still there is no excuse for their attitude. That is just poor customer service.

I agree with this. I know i have been to about 3 or 4 locations and they have always been great to me. I'm guilty of the COACH obsession, that the ladies at Woodfield actually know my name!!! (it drives DH nuts!!).

I do find the ladies that work at the Department store COACH counters to be worse than the store clerks. Not snotty, just bored. KWIM?
