Ok, since my husband bought an ipad today, he said he would get me a coach purse. Woo Hoo! (I love his guilt. lol) Well, I most certainly will not pay full price for one. I have seen on this board that people get coupons. Do you have to sign up for a newsletter or something? How can I do this? And how much have people saved buy buying at the outlet? I am hoping they have older styles, because what I have seen at Macy's and the Coach store are ugly! But I remember seeing ones carried by my friends that are so much cuter! I know there are coach addicts here....help me out!

Not sure where you can get a coupon but some of the pocketbooks at the outlet can be up to 50% off. They still are pricey even with the discount. I have heard that they don't sell the pocketbooks that you see in the actual Coach store at the outlets but I say what's the difference, no one is gonna know that you got your bag at the outlet as opposed to the actual store, they are just as nice.

Go to Coach dot com and sign up for emails. The last 20% coupon (for factory store) email I've received came on July 9th and expired on July 12th so a new one should be along soon. They send me coupon offers at least twice a month.

Just recieved a beautiful Coach bag from an outlet. It is a bag I have seen many women carry, so I am not sure if it is sold only at the outlet. I recieve discount coupons through email. Signed up at the Coach website. The last few times I have gone into the outlet they were handing out twenty percent off coupons. Not sure if they do it all of the time, but like I said the last few times they were handing them out.

When I was there in May there was an employee near the door handing out 30% off coupons. When I checked out I gave my email address and now I get emails about once a week with a coupon or sale.

In my experience the outlets are awesome - they typically carry last years or older "models" - it is correct that something you see in the retail store at the reg. mall is not likely to be at the outlet but you can get some awesome bags at the outlet - they may just be "last season" - which means nothing to me since I don't follow these things....

It's funny because I go to the coach store in Atlantic city and it seems what type of bag they have depends on the season (not scientific just how it appears to me). Christmas, maybe because the demand is much more, it seems the store has more bags that were made for the outlets. I don't like those because I think they are flimsier. (sp?)

Thanks, I'll sign up at the website. I am hoping the outlet has different bags, because the ones I saw in the store were UGLY!! and if I'm going to spend that much on a bag, I better love it!

As others have said, the outlets definitely sell items made specifically for the outlets as well as items from the regular stores that do not sell within a certain time period. I have purchased both kinds, and have been pleased on both fronts. Yes, there is definitely a difference in quality. In my opinion, the bags made exclusively for the outlets don't feel the same -- the leather is not as soft and the hardware is less substantial. But I was still happy with my purchase -- and the price! The other bag was one of only two of its kind in the store, hidden within the sale section. Many of the salespeople made a point of telling me that it was from the "real stores." I love it! Best of all, I was able to use a 20% coupon that they handed out (since it was the store's grand opening) and got a terrific deal -- way less than I would have paid for the bag in the mall. Normally any time that they have an e-mail coupon they do hand out the same ones at the store. But knowing when they are having the sale (unless the store is close to you) is the big advantage. Often the lead in items right inside the front and to each side with a specially marked price can be the biggest deals. The 50% off rack in the back area often is 50% off the original high retail which can be more than it actually was when it was on the promo table.

They have great back-up service. DD's one purse had a strap start to 'come apart' in the sewing - they sent it in but couldn't repair it so they gave us store credit for more than we had paid for the purse so we could replace with something new. Normally they charge $20 to send the purse in for repair, but since we had only had it 2 months they did not even do that.

They have both my home address and email and I have not been getting any coupons and one year i went insanely wild beyond beliefe and bought like 4 coach purses and wallets from the regular store a month or something like that. i was giving those things as gifts to just about anyone for any occacion before my husband could truly see my stash.

I have been to the outlets and gotten one that was super cute but wasn't one they stocked ever in the real stores. It isn't even leather but is cute cloth and pink and white. I don't even know where in my house it is right now? Or remember what i paid for it. But yes the quality is not the same though we were able to get some swingpacks that had been sold in the store.

Does anyone off the top of their head know about how much the small and large wallets are? I need 3 in the next few weeks and need to budget them in (mostly because of my previous insane shopping binges) I prefer the coach signature ones so those might be a bit more. TIA

Check out the The Purse Forum. They have a Coach section. People post what they have bought from the outlets. Good way to see what is available now. I went on a Coach spree a few years ago. I got several items from Ebay- believe it or not if you are careful you can get some great deals there.
