co-ed baby shower

Just wanted to give a game (really activity rather than game) idea that I did for my sister-in-law/brother-in-law at their co-ed shower I helped host. I gave them each a little chalk board and asked various questions to see if they "were on the same page" with some upcoming life situations. Here are some examples (it was for a baby girl):

How old will she be when she's allowed to date?
If you allowed her to be on a reality show when she's older, which one would it be?
How old will she be on her first trip to Disney World?

It was funny to see the answers and everyone got a kick out of it.

That is a fun one!! I did that at a co-ed wedding shower that I threw and it worked well.

My sister and her dh have 4 dogs and 2 cats:) I thought it would be fun to have a gift form their fur babies to the new baby. Is that stupid if not what could I get from them:rotfl:

I think that would be cute! If you could find some onesies with dogs on it and some with cats on it and give them from the dogs/cats respectively!

My shower for dd was a traditonally planned shower and there were some men there. I don't recall any of them being in misery and there was no football on to distract them. They sat politely with their wives and watched us open gifts, played the games, ate the food. I can't imagine going to a shower or any party and retreating to a different room and ignoring the guest(s) of honor in favor of huddling around a tv. If a man is invited to a shower and he feels that he can't have enough manners to celebrate the event, he should just decline the invitation.

LOVE that idea! My dh can take pictures of the pets and print them on iron-on transfers!:thumbsup2

Basically throw a party with some time set aside for opening gifts. With good food, drink and company, everyone will enjoy themselves. By all means, skip the idiotic games.

Pretty much what I did. Everyone had a great time without games and honestly, if you are expecting a lot of people, games would be a nightmare to coordinate with a mass.

So I booked the restaurant. It will be brunch and what I like about that is you get up and get your own food as many times as you want for four hours. The restaurant is right on the water and the room I booked has access to the out door deck! I will do guess how many kisses in the jar game. Also the don't say baby game but instead of a pin everyone gets five raffle tickets and when you say baby and get caught you hand over a ticket. At the end the person with the most tickets wins a prize, then everyone who still has tickets puts their names on them and goes in for a drawing.I will also do a guess the due date time and weight of the baby and have a great gift basket on display for people to see if they win:) So what do you all thimk? What prices can I do? I was thinking a bottle of wine for the girls and a high quality 6 pack for the guys. All ideas are welcome!!!! I am doing the candy buffet as a favor what should I inclued on that?

I am trying to come up with things for everyone to mingle and talk:)
