CNN & FOX-Al-Zarqawi killed

And, as for Zarqawi, there are now reports on FOX and other networks that Zarqawi was ALIVE after the attack and was turned over to Iraqi authorities and was later killed or died in custody. They still can't keep their lies straight.

I heard the General (in Iraq) say that he died shortly after he was found. He made a feeble attempt to escape. I don't care if he died in the explosion, after the explosion or was killed trying to escape. He's dead and that's really all that matters. To most people (unlike yourself) that is.

So exactly who was/is lying?? And about what?

Exactly. He is DEAD and that is all I care about.

I'm proud of the way they have stood up to the worst of possible conditions. Being placed in a no-win situation by men who never wore a uniform, much less set foot on a battlefield.

Now who would that be? The President served in the Texas Air National Guard and flew F-102. A difficult aircraft to master. Donald Rumsfeld served in the Navy as an aviator and flight instructor.

Hey, even Al Gore is glad he's dead!! (he's on Leno right now).
Wasn't Al funny, Charade? :rotfl:

I think I would have to pass on seeing any movie that features him in the nude, how about you? ;)

I'm supposed to read Richard Miniter??? BWA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!

That guy has ZERO credibility.

And, lies, what lies? Go back and read the articles I posted quoting Gen. Kimmitt saying the Zarqawi PSYOPS program was the most successful information campaign. The Atlantic Monthly article bears that out.

If he's dead, fine, great. But it won't change a thing in Iraq.

DawnCT, what battlefields did Rumsfeld and Bush set foot on? Hmmm?

Cheney? Five deferrments
Wolfowitz? HA!
Perle? HA!
Hadley? HA!
Feith? HA!
Rice? HA!
Libby? HA!

Yup. They're right up there with General Eisenhower and Admiral Nimitz.

I'm curious how those of you so giddy about Zarqawi's death feel about the three women and possibly a child that were killed in order to get him. Oh, I'm sure you will just say that it was "collateral damage" and worth it to take him out...but I just want to see you say it. Killing innocents to take out the bad guy...yep...we have met the enemy, and...you can finish it for yourself.

Hey...maybe while you're posting pictures of dead bodies, you can post pictures of the civilians killed in Haditha...show us all just how disgustingly bloodthirsty you've become. :sad2:

Wvrevy - you are going to far. Because we are proud of our military that they got one of the most wanted murderous terrorists that chopped the heads off of people and murdered hundreds of innocents that makes us horrible?? Please. Of course I don't want to see civilians killed. But you know what - had the media found out that we could have gotten him and we didn't because of that - they would have been all over that like flies on you know what. Our military is damned if they do and damned if they don't.

This story about us terminating Zarqawi has NOTHING to do with Haditha - you can't even compare the two.

While it is sad if a child was killed, I place the responsibiity for that child's death on the parents. Knowingly putting your child in the presence of someone with a 25 million bounty on their head is not a very smart move. Also, if that child was in the presence of radicals, it is not a huge leap of imagination to think the apple wouldn't fall too far from the tree. Maybe not, and we will never know. It is sad when innocent children die. I wonder if you felt the same outrage every time a child was killed by a car bomb or IED? How many children have been saved by Zarqawi being killed? Not that we will ever know for sure, but I am sure the number is more than 1.

As for Haditha, until those soldiers are proven guility in a court, I will give them the presumption of innocence as they are due.

Again, I urge you all to read this article while it's still available:
http://www.theatlantic.com/doc/200607/zarqawi?ca=9hloQUJamUfhaPsPg+9E5USZvqSqBDKyXpAE9U9Gsng=

You'll see the myth that Zarqawi was some great mastermind is just that, a myth.

And arguing that Zarqawi wasn't a terrorist mastermind is a strawman. I don't know what your objection is here. Terrorism isn't brain surgery, and the fact that he was a murderous fanatic is more important than where his group sat on the al-qaida chart.

...and, they're usually hiding behind women and kids.

News reports are now saying 3 men and 3 women were killed at the house. If there was a child there, I agree with the poster who asked WHY a parent would have their child there, with someone KNOWN to have a $25 mil bounty on his head was.

I hope all his supporters are hearing the reports about how he was fearful and tried to escape when he saw the military there. Tried to slither off his gurney. Yep, that sounds like a hero, dying for his cause.... trying to hide, even as he lay dying.

Perhaps certain people (those in the "sympathy for the devil" state, a.k.a. a certain one that Al Gore lost in 1996) will "enjoy" this list of Al-Zarqawis "greatest hits:"

- The beheading of the American Nicholas Berg.

- The execution of the British engineer Ken Bigley.

- Putting both of the above on mass-produced on CDs, which were sold as a form of "entertainment" in markets in Iraqi cities.

- The 2003 car-bombing of the UN headquarters in Baghdad, in which the UN negotiator, Sergio Vieira de Mello, died.

- The murder of the Ayatollah Mohammed Baqr al-Hakim, who had been preaching tolerance and reconciliation in Iraq's holiest shrine in Najaf, when he was blown up by a massive car bomb in August 2003.

- The autumn 2005 suicide bombing of wedding parties in three Amman hotels in Jordan, killing 57 people, including the families of the bridal couples.

- Just last weekend, holding up a bus bound for Baquba, ordering students and families off of it, then killing 17 of them and subsequently putting their severed heads in fruit boxes and leaving them by the roadside.

Yep, Al-Zarqawi was just a low-impact, "strawman nobody."

Yes, certainly....

BING BING BING we have a winner!!!!!

It only took two days for the “baby killer” posts to appear. Hey but so sorry to disappoint you, CNN beat you big time. They were flashing “Woman and child also killed during US bombing” on the bottom of their screen as the General was holding a press conference yesterday… about the death of “the prince of al Qaeda in Iraq” a title given to him by his good buddy Osama. But we all know Zarqawi and bin Laden “did NOT get along with each other” right.. nightowlky? Gee I usually call people that I don’t get along with *******s!

Let’s see what kind of posts come next with the news that Al-Zarqawi survived the bombing but later died. I can see it now “The United Sates Air Force couldn't hit the broad side of a …. Al-Zarqawi with two (500 pound) bombs!!”

Amazing….

God Bless America and our brave troops!!!

Are you implying that every Commander in Chief and Sec Def be required to rise to the level of admirals and generals? If that were the case, we would have never won WWII. Roosevelt and Truman did not fit that bill.

You know the saying; "if you sleep with dogs, you're gonna get fleas". Are you as outraged at the box of of 17 heads, that included the heads of children found near his safe house? How many deaths does his death, and those that were with him prevent going forward?

I have not once seen in this entire thread someone bring up the fact of the child and women. I regret the loss and only wish they were not there. I am glad he won't cause any further pain, but, you must think. 4 people, or hundreds possibly thousands more.

Yep, I'm sure that it was a house full of poor innocent people who had NO ties to Zarqawi and didn't even want him there.

Funny, I don't remember seeing you ever blast the ENEMY for hiding behind innocent women and children. Or the 8-14 year old kids lobbing grenades at our soldiers (are we allowed to kill THEM?). Or our enemies that hold OUR cilivilans hostage and proceed to cut off their heads.

Our enemy ENCOURAGES their troops to kill civilians.

WE go OUT OF OUR WAY to minimize collateral damage. And, to you, WE'RE the bad guy.

You just hate America - admit it.

Let's stick with reality, shall we?
All we know about last night is a house was allegedly bombed by two US fighter jets.
The video clip on CNN today showed NO smoldering remains and showed kids jumping up and down on the rubble. Where were the US military and intelligence people cordoning off the area and searching for documents and other evidence?
Hmmm?
Truth is the first casualty of war and it was long buried in this one.
Watch that BBC documentary and read that book and let the wool fall away.

I must agree with you. I found the below picture of the crater left by the “alleged” US bombs. You are right I got fooled once by the US government when they said we landed on the moon. Those moon pictures looked so dang real, find out how it was really done ..here. I will never let them fool me again. They can’t pull the “wool” over my eyes, that’s no bomb crater it looks more like the debris from the construction of President Bush’s BBQ pit down on his Texas ranch. Very sneaky!!

Look I found more lies about the attack…I bet they never conducted the 39 overnight raids..

Raids yield military gear

During his Baghdad briefing, Caldwell said that U.S. troops had conducted 39 overnight raids in Iraq, some of which followed up on a "treasure trove" of intelligence found in raids that took place the night before, during the al-Zarqawi attack.

Caldwell said troops found caches of "military gear and suicide gear" in the raids, including suicide vests, armament, passports, identification cards, a night observation device and Iraqi army uniforms.
