CM's - What things bother you most?

Getting yelled at for literally 10 minutes because it is raining.

To add to that... I love when your attraction is closed due to "electrical activity in the area" (aka Lightning)... and guests come up to you and say "When will it reopen?" and you polietly reply "As soon as the lightning clears the area" and they respond 'Well when will that be?"... Um... Hang on a minute, let me call the "BIG" guy (I have him on speed dial you know) and find out when he will be done throwing bolts at us...

OMG!! I used to get that all the time when I perm greeted Skyway!! That and when will the wind stop blowing. I most of the time found it funny but sometimes, when I am standing in my rain gear and all wet and hoping that I don't get hit by lightning it would take a lot for me not to say something a little on the sarcastic side. ;)

Oh, I thought of another one. Please do not ask me (or any other castmember) to stop the ride because you dropped your water or coke bottle in it (I'm talking water.. not your purse, your wedding ring, or somethinglike that). If you do, please understand that they will probably tell you that they cannot stop it and to please come at the end of the day. Do not ask them to jump into the ride in between the cars to get it or offer for them to let you jump in. That's just unsafe. The rules are there for a reason, please follow them.

Thanks. :)

I would have to say getting yelled at for enforcing the rules... By far my favorite, the Florida State Safety Board has set a height restriction for a ride based on the safety restraint system being utilized. The height is there so that your child does not get thrown out of the ride and, I don't know KILLED... so please yell at me because your little munchkin has been waiting his whole life to ride and I "the mean evil one" am dead set on ruining your entire vacation because I won't let him....

On that same note, the train at MK... I love getting yelled at because we allow you take your stroller on the train but it has to be folded (by the way it is the only "attraction" in the park that allows this, all others make you leave it outside)... I feel like saying...Yes, you do have to fold it and take it up the stairs with you, no your stroller is NOT a wheelchair (your child is a blessing not a disability) and I am sorry he is sleeping but if you want to ride it has to be folded. It is not like the train takes you somewhere you can't get to otherwise, if you want him to continue sleeping please walk to your destination, don't yell at me...

Wow, Sorry, I think I just went on a tangent... ;)

Guests that try to tell me how to do my job.

I was doing a parade control shift once, and a lady asked (well, more like "told") me to move because I was blocking her view. Umm ... no. There IS a reason that I'm standing, and there is a reason that I'm standing in this particular spot.

Wow, I can't blame the woman for getting upset. (No excuse for her to get nasty)

I've never seen a CM block a guest's view during a parade. :guilty:

How do you know in advance where a CM will be stationed?:confused3 I've always seen them walking up and down before the parade starts. One the parade begins; they're still in the area, but not blocking anyone’s view.

Can you imagine getting a spot early; waiting for the parade to start, and then finding out you won't be able to see very well because a CM has been assigned to stand in a certain spot. :guilty:

When I did PAC, we were told to kneel or sit in front, but be alert in case of runners. I actually only stood during the 2nd Spectro when it wasn't crowded at all. Otherwise I knelt down. I was always apologizing (??) in case I was blocking someone.

yikes! i just read that website. Its horrible that people act that badly to the cm's and actually hit them! I never realized people acted like that while in Disneyworld, you're on vacation, how could you go there to fight with someone? I must live in a Bubble!
If these people act like this on vacation, imagine what they are like back in their "own little world". Yuck! :earboy2:

In the example I posted, I was there long before she was, she showed up about 6 minutes before the parade started.

I used to try and kneel or squat for the duration of the parade, however, recently my area went through updated parade training, and our management told us to not squat, for a few reasons. 1. When squatting, the knees are in a hyper-flexed position, which isn't really safe, or good for you. 2. In the event of "runners", we have more mobility if we're starting from a standing position rather than a squatting/kneeling position.

I just thought of something else. Please, please, please do NOT hit, punch, or get physical in any way with the CM. Most of the time they really are trying their hardest to help. We really don't like to get hit. It's not fun....and it hurts.
