CMO TOP 10 Announced

Congratulations Meggin!!! If you can sing Sondheim, you can sing anything! Love how you went back to them and got your part!

The brief moment in time that I thought I had a chance of being the CMO, I remember anytime anyone brought up dates in April to me to do anything, I felt as though I had a prior "scheduling conflict." Even though all I had done was ENTER a contest.

Ridiculously positive thinking, I know.....but I wondered how the rest of you Top 10ers have been feeling during this time......sortof like you have a trip scheduled for April already? Making plans according to those dates?

Do you feel like you have to clear your calendar, just in case? Or go about business as usual and continue making your own plans? Have you blocked off that time in April for the finals no matter what?

aw, thanks!! i do love sondheim because the music is so ridiculous. it's always a fun challenge.

you know, i had "conflicts" with the april dates before the contest was made public, because i'm cast in a show at that time, and i was cast in it last fall. however, people at the theatre are aware of my status in the contest, and i'm hoping that they would put someone in as an understudy (since it's a pretty small role) for me in the happy event that i get to compete at wdw. as for the "future" dates--i've been optimistically trying to work my schedule around them in the hopes that i'll make it that far...

Good for you, Meggin!! Was that an original entry to Wikipedia?

yep--anyone can submit or edit an article to wikipedia. you just have to make sure you have plenty of references and hope that the administrators think it's a topic worthy of keeping in the encyclopedia.

it took me awhile, but i'm glad that i did it i hope that people will find it as their web browsing about the contest!!

Wow! Thanks for the props! I had a great time on my vacation. Sorry I haven't really been around. I had a tough time getting back to work yesterday. It's always hard to do after a great vacation. I'm doing much better today and back into the swing of things. Keep voting!!!

I can totally see how much passion you have for Disney and that I believe that you should have the chance to prove it. I think everyone who made the top 10 is very deserving and it is very difficult to have to choose just 3.

It is really good to see the posts on here to get an idea of what everyone is really about. You get to see them outside of just the 1 minute video. Some of the videos are very creative, but I think that there is so much more to see about a candidate than just that. This is more than a creative video scripting and production contest. I think we need to vote for the folks that really embody the essence of what Disney really is.

I think that based on what I have read that Tripp, Justin and Meggin have the right stuff.

Congrats, Meggin--I'm a big Sondheim fan. I agree that Assassins isn't that cheerful of a show, and you're clearly leading a double-life being both a cheerful Disney fan and a nutso assassin. Who are you, Sarah Jane Moore? Squeaky Fromme? I always wanted to make this show into an animated film, with each different scene done in a different animation/visual style (cut-outs, hand-drawn, 3-D, etc.) You inspired me to bring that CD in the car this morning--I can vent my frustrations about the morning commute through song!!)

it is funny. i mean, beauty and the beast is my favorite movie, and yet i love the musicals "assassins," "sweeney todd," "into the woods," "the last five years"--all really sad, dark stuff. i think it's because the music is SO powerful. i'm going to play squeaky fromme--and i'll admit, i'm a little worried about some of the language. i've never cursed onstage before. i hope that the director will be open to some edits.

andy, i would LOVE to see your animated film--it would be incredible!! i saw the revival on broadway a few years ago. did you see it? it was probably the best musical i've ever seen on broadway. it wasn't until the show was over that i realized how much tension i'd been holding in my body--it was incredible to have such a physical reaction to a play. i loved it!

on your commute you can sing, "everybody's got the right to be happy..."

my meeting with tripp was semi-planned. we knew we were going to meet up for dinner at the boardwalk one evening, but we also had a bonus coincidental meeting at the hollywood studios--of course, the "filmed" portion was pre-planned since we'd already been chatting and watching block party bash. it was really fun, and we're hoping to keep in touch when his family comes back down here in a few months

You're welcome for the welcome! I really am glad you found us! Meggin posted links to some of the media, but I couldn't get the radio one to work. I'll keep trying to find another link. I believe that earlier in this thread David W. and Amy Kate also posted some publicity (or someone did on their behalf) but I haven't had a chance to go back and find it yet!

I agree that it is important to get to know us outside of the videos. You can only accomplish so much in 60 seconds. I think that is why so many of us have become so attached to this forum! It's just a wonderful place to get to know fellow Disney fans!

Thanks for the vote of confidence! I hope you have time sometime to read back through this thread and catch up on some of the responses from our Great DISbate and other things.

I just got home and checked my caller id and, the last call, no message, read "ORLANDO" and a 407 number.......

I KNEW IT!!!!!!!!

I had my husband call the number, I immediately checked my email, I googled the phone number and guess what?!

I am STILL not in the running for CMO! It was just some telemarketer.

That Disney Denial still has a hold on me.....I at least thought I would the sweepstakes.....nope!

I am in GA, so I am familiar with Tripp and the passion for Disney that he has shared over the years. I think his video update helps to show the rest of the folks who aren't within earshot exactly who he is and the Disney stuff he's made of.

Congrats on the press Justin. I know that I haven't heard a single word about Tripp's running for CMO on his station. Although talking about everyday through the voting period might be considered a little unfair I think he should at least make a brief mention so people know...you know?

Here is what you do. Go to Dell.com and order a new one.

I wish I was that well versed to give advice over the thread, but alas I am not. This site is very similar to slickdeals.net (I am assuming it is the same people who own it or they purchased the shell from the same place)

SlickDeals is great to find deals that people have found so you don't have to scour the internet quite as much. I actually picked up a new PC with Vista for about $150 after rebates.

First off, I'd like to vote in favor of your animated Sondheim idea! That would definitley be worth watching.

Second, LOVE the idea of venting your commute frustrations through song! (and Sondheim is particularly good for that!) What other shows do you like?

oh, gosh. this is going to look so self-centered. i've been really fortunate to play some fun roles. i mainly perform children's theatre, but i've also played babe in crimes of the heart, elaine in arsenic and old lace, nellie forbush in south pacific (twice), louise in gypsy, babette in beauty and the beast, tzeitel in fiddler on the roof, johanna in sweeney todd, the witch in into the woods, random shark girl and "somewhere" soloist in west side story, blah blah blah. but enough about me!! you're in theatre, too!! what are some of your favorite roles?

Tripp would be better suited to address this, but in the past he has stated that due to certain radio station guidelines he isn't supposed to promote non-affiliated contests like this. I don't know the specifics, but he can probably tell you more!
