You are welcome to take it for what you wish. I was only kidding around. Calliaz PMd me and I confirmed the assumption of the voting method. It was only one upsmanship in fun, Calliaz didn't seem to have any problems with my post. Not all our jokes are always a success. I am not able to vote while away from my computer.
Just to clarify, I always got the joke. I did post my own warning about using software to circumvent the code. I did it for the same reason you wanted to ensure that The Powers That Be didn't think you were cheating. Not only do we not want to cheat, we don't want anyone to think we are cheating.
I could see how Kenny's tone could be misinterpreted, but I also understand where he was coming from. I never would have figured out the secret without knowing it was possible via Kenny. It was fun figuring it out. I did hold back on sharing out of deference to Kenny.
Can we all just chalk this up to the limitations of tone within the written word and be happyish campers?
In the interest of full disclosure, here are my full instructions:
You need to have the Opera browser (as opposed to Internet Explorer). I have version 9.21 and can only guarantee it works with that version. You can download the current version free from: http://www.opera.com/download/
Once you have the browser, it is really simple:
1. Go to the voting page through the direct link (see below)
2. Type in the code and hit Enter
3. Wait for the “Thank You for Voting” page
4. Hit Backspace
5. Hit Enter and wait for the “Thank You for Voting” page
6. Hit Backspace
7. Repeat ad nauseum
What should happen is that the browser maintains the old code in the box, so you’re just voting with the same code each time. In addition, the browser shouldn’t clear the code entry box, so there is no re-typing required.
