Thank you and Goodnight to Fleagle and Mrs. Fleagle...wherever you are!

Thanks to all who participated in this event!

Since no one openly bribed the "spinster" contingent, I'll have to re-read all the answers to decide who was my winner of the night! (That's right - always give prizes to adorable kids and tired Moms!) :rotfl2:

And can I just say...

That's got to be the best pirate I've ever seen! Does he plan it that way, or make it up as he goes along? He managed (quite successfully) to include himself in almost every question/answer! Amazing! pirate:

I think we've all arrived at a very special place. Spiritually, ecumenically, grammatically.

I was able to get the dog to surrender the keys after all!

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
I knew it! Those words had to come out sooner or later! Well done Mr. Pirate!

{SNOW WHITE hurries onto the stage and gives Dopey a big hug}SNOW WHITE:* Sorry Dopey!* Let me help you out here:Question #6: If you had a choice to give an amazing "Dream" to a newly married couple, a family with two small children, or a group of friends... who would you select and why?
Karrie Dunkin's Response:Oooooh - that's a tough one...all different stages of life, but all very magical!* Since the newlyweds have found their prince charming and princess in eachother; and the group of friends are in the midst of their magical gathering - I'd have to choose the wide-eyed response of the two small children.* As we all know...it's an experience they will never, ever forget!***

G'nite all! I leave for the e'enin' with one last statement...

Do us a favor... I know it's difficult for you... but please, stay here, and try not to do anything... stupid.

Ohhh, SPONSORS need to be coughin' up the trip or it be back to the brig with ye!!!

Goodnight from the low blood sugar Birthday girl..........................thanks for a great evening!!! :yay:

For anyone still here, TOP 10 that is, are any of you thinking this is bigger than what you expected? Kindof an "ut oh, what did I get myself into and look at the competition, I am out of my league?"

Are you overwhelmed with the prospect of actually making it to Top 3 or even being the ONE?

What a great question!! I think I'm still awed by this whole process. I am certainly impressed by the other submissions in the contest. There were some amazing videos that were uploaded to the CMO site. I also really respect the other candidates in the top 10.

You know, I have to borrow Fleagle's philosophy for making it further as a CMO. I know that I have the heart for the job, and I feel certain that I can make a difference at Disney. I truly feel like Disney would have the most loyal, dedicated, tireless, loving magic-maker they could if I had the job. I certainly think that other top 10 members would do a fantastic job at being CMO. They wouldn't be in the top 10 if people at Disney/Careerbuilder.com didn't have faith that they would do a good job. Still, I wouldn't have entered my video if I didn't think I was the perfect one for the position. I have to try hard. If I fail, I'll fail spectacularly.

I’d pull out a calculator (my math skills are a little rusty!), figure out how many people I could get into the parks for a day, and then select a lucky family to join me.

We’d jump in a Disney bus, head out to the Orlando (or Anaheim!) area, and find as many people as we were allowed to take with us. We’d grab folks from the fry machines at McDonalds, people washing dishes in restaurants, people working with children and senior citizens, and anyone else who seemed like they really needed and deserved a special, magical, Disney surprise. :woohoo:

Through this, we get to grant dozens of wishes to people who are most unsuspecting, and a family gets to participate in the magic of sharing Disney with others. Again, feels like everyone wins to me! :thumbsup2

I want to be on Justin's bus!!!

I hear ya, Circusgirl! ::yes:: Justin's "DISNEY DREAM BUS" answer was one of my favorite creative responses from tonight's DISbate -- along with the stories in David W. "Autopia Guy's" Opening Remarks. :thumbsup2

Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls,
Good Evening!!!
Thank you to everyone putting together this DISbate, and those of you attending.

I have loved everything Disney since the original Mickey Mouse Club and the opening of Disneyland. There truly is Magic I feel as “. . . You Leave Today and Enter the World of Yesterday, Tomorrow and Fantasy!"
My grandmother scrimped and saved to take me to Disneyland when it first opened. Entering the park I wanted to go to the Mark Twain and grama and grampa went with me.
They left the park early and I roamed around and found an incredible thing! I was 14 years old and at Disneyland – you are not going to believe this – there were little cars that children could drive!! Amazing!! I drove and drove these cars called automobile utopia, autopia for short! 14 years-old driving my own car by myself around miniature freeways.

The rest of the story is not history, it is living magic. It doesn’t matter how many times I went to Disneyland – what matters is who I took. I took my mother’s neighbor boy, Earl, whose family could not afford to go and now Earl and his wife and two daughters go every year. I took my sister and about 30 or 40 other kids. My daughter and her “poor deprived” children (in my video) have never seen Knotts or the other marvelous Southern CA attractions, ‘cause they don’t want to. They all, and Vickie and I, only want to go to “THAT PLACE!”.

The Disney parks are not some kind of dream for me. The parks are another place where I live. My eyes are wet right now just from typing those two words, “that place”.

With our next question, please welcome Howie Mandel!

{Howie enters surrounded by 26 leggy supermodels carrying numbered cases}

HOWIE: Ok candidates, Disney has got a deal for you. Let's open up one case.

DONALD DUCK {from the audience}: NUMBER ONE! FOR ME! DONALD DUCK, NUMBER ONE!

HOWIE: Ok...Svetlana, open your case.

{Svetlana opens her case to reveal $1,000}

DONALD: I WON! I WON! QQQWHWHWHWQQQWHWW!!!!!

HOWIE: No, Donald, we're going to use that amount in our next question.

DONALD: OH PHOOEY!

Question #7: If Disney comes to you on your first day as CMO and offers you the chance to create your own prize for YOAMD, with a $1,000 cost limit, what would you do?

HOW FUN! The opportunities are endless, but I'm really impressed with and excited about Disney's support of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. I would definitely have to swing by the Wish Lounge (where Make-A-Wish children and their families can rest during their visits to the park) to seek out a special little princess and/or pirate and do whatever it would take to make their Disney vacation absolutely perfect. I can't think of anyone more deserving of a big dose of magic than these brave children and their amazing parents. :grouphug:

Thanks again, fleagles, for putting together tonight's DISbate. :thumbsup2

Now to reread the Q&A (probably sometime tomorrow) so that I can make some decisions and VOTE, VOTE, VOTE!!

well, since everyone else seems to be headed to sleepy-town, i guess i'll follow suit. and maybe i'll finally have dinner--i was too excited to eat before the disbate.

thank you again to everyone!

meggin

I have to try hard. If I fail, I'll fail spectacularly.

You won't fail Meggin, even in the chance that you didn't make it this time, I know you'd still live your life doing all you could to make people smile! That could never count as failure! :wizard:

Edited to add: Trying to say, you definitely have a cmo heart and a greater chance than you may think!

With our next question, please welcome, the Squirrel from The Emperor's New Groove!

{SQUIRREL scampers in}

SQUIRREL: squeeky, squeak, squeekum... squeeeeky, squeek, squeek, crizzle, squeek.

{audience looks dazed and confused}

KRONK {offstage} COMING THROUGH!!!!

{He rushes on}

KRONK: I can translate:

Question #8: The afternoon parade is having technical difficulties. As CMO, you've just been told to entertain the crowd on Main Street, to buy some time. What do you do, to not only entertain, but to make some magical experiences for some guests?

Karrie Dunkin's Response:

I'm envisioning something like "Jay Leno's Jaywalking." Not the type of Q&A that would embarass people, but just a fun time of trivia, singing, dancing and REALLY interacting with the crowd. I'm pretty good at making balloon animals and hats now, too (much better than I am at typing...HA HA!) and I'm an aspiring Disney Cruise Character "Towel" Artist! ;)

Thank YOU all for being here and inviting us here--I know I'm a newbie, and I'm happy that you want to get to know all of us. It's been really wonderful getting insights into all of you beautiful people over the last few weeks.

:goodvibes (Aw! Thanks!) We're glad you decided to join us! We hope everyone feels welcome, and -- as fleagle suggested (post #766) -- we also hope everyone is here to stay! :goodvibes

ANNOUNCER: Final question for the general round: We've asked RABBIT to not come on stage due to time considerations.

RABBIT: {offstage} OUTRAGEOUS!!!!

Question #9: Finish this sentence: My year as CMO would not be complete without _________?

Karrie Dunkin's Response:

Fulfilling my campaign promise of "No Slipper Left Behind!" :wizard: Not that there's anything wrong with Cinderella losing her slipper...I mean, we all know the fairy-tale ending! :goodvibes

What I mean is that if I am elected as Disney's CMO, I want to attend and stay at every YOMD event possible (even after the clock strikes midnight)...ensuring that as many wishes as possible are granted. A budget is not always required to make someone's dream come true...sometimes it's just someone to talk to, someone to listen, someone to sing or dance or act silly with...a handshake...a hug...a photo...or helping someone get that special autograph. Okay, now I can officially say that just as I used to go to bed thinking about Disney (so I would hopefully experience the magic in my dreams); I'm going to go to bed tonight thinking about being Disney's CMO. :cloud9: It may sound cliche, but this position really is going to be someone's dream come true!

Wow, I just got caught up!! Thanks everyone who participated! It was a great idea Fleagle.:cool1:

Very cool! :thumbsup2

I recognize "I believe's" screen name from the "Adventures of the 'Moms' Panel" thread. (Hey, "I believe": Are you "lurking" over here but not posting?? ;) )

Hi DISgeeksfromDC... I have lurked here a bit since Marshay came over to the Moms Panel thread in early Feb. and pointed out the original CMO thread. Thanks Marshay!

I wanted to thank you all for tonight's wonderful festivities. It was a great idea, Fleagle, as the PP mentioned.

Have a great night everyone!

Not sure if anyone is still on...I missed the DISbate tonight since my parents came down to visit us for a few days from Pennsylvania.

I'm reading the debate now and will do my "10 votes per" and many more (minimum 100) for the overall winner. So far I'm going through each answer and giving +'s and -'s...the one with the most points will be my winner!

I'm only on the pirate question and already laughing like crazy! :goodvibes
