Speaking of Marshay.... I thought you were being extraordinarily quiet tonight! (You typically have at least a thing or two to say! ;) )

'Hope you had a nice visit with your folks!

Yeah, sometimes I say a bit too much...other times not enough...oh well, I must say that I am so glad that the new folks joined us tonight! If I would have scared them off, I would have missed a good night of disbates! What a loss that would have been...

:welcome:

So, how did the campaigning go today on Sunset Blvd.?

Yes, welcome Amy! So nice to have you here and (as you can tell) we're all so anxious to hear about your Fairy Godmother adventures on Sunset Blvd. How very magical! :wizard:

Okay, I'm going to "officially" try to go and have Disney dreams now. "Love's first kiss" (or, actually, my 3-year old demanding waffles) is just around the corner. What a fun time tonight, everyone. So nice to get to know you all better! Goodnight! :teleport:

Thanks for joining us Marshay! I eagerly wait to hear some of your thoughts . . .:flower3: (the flower is to hopefully encourage you to be gentle with me!)

Where in PA are your folks from? Did you have a good time?

I grew up in Reading, PA and my parents are now in Blandon/Fleetwood. It's always good to be with my parents (my mom is the church organist for the Reading Grace Bible Fellowship Church, in case you are familiar with that one...)

I definitely have comments ;) ... but I will wait to keep reading this thread to see what the rest of the "spinners spun"

OK, looks like I'll be the first one to declare a winner...

In my super-scientific poll using a + for each answer that I thought was meaningful, well-written, funny, engaging or just added something extra ...

Tied for 2nd place and earning 10 votes each from me
David H, Meggin, Amy Kate, Tripp, Wotruba and Karrie

WINNER(S)
Justin and Patrick

So instead of comparing both of their answers, I will give 100 votes to both Justin and Patrick. You each earned six +'s from me for your answers tonight -- good job!

Welcome Amy! Thanks for joining us! We'd love to have you catch up and share some of your thoughts!

I have to ask, though, how did things go out on Sunset this morning??

Thanks for the warm welcome!

Sunset went great. Handed out many flyers to many amused smiles and bemused looks. I spread some Magic (and home made cookies) to friends and neighbors, so even if it doesn't translate into many votes, it was a good chance to make some friends in the community I might not have met otherwise.

Surprisingly, a Fairy Godmother costume is not as hot as you would think in the California sun. We'll try to send more of the sunshine to all of you in the snow.

I was excited to hear you were doing this! Love to hear these kinds of stories! :wizard: Sounds like it went well--would have made a great news story!

Fleagle,

Thank you so much for being the CMO Disbate Emcee and all-around most amazing host ever. You really are what the spirit of this competition is all about. I hope to meet you someday.

This has been great fun (if brief for me). I will try to answer any questions from the Disbate I missed out on. But now it's time for bed here. Even though we're three hours behind most everybody, the alarm is set for 5AM.

Thank you all and keep spreading the Magic!

'Sounds like just about everyone I know... ;)

I must say that I am so glad that the new folks joined us tonight!

Agreed! :thumbsup2

I seriously doubt you would have scared them away ... unless you had some unusual, surprise "stunt" up your sleeve that was kept top-secret!

Edited to Add: Are you and HMF cooking up something! ;)

Why, thank you, tothesea! :goodvibes

Of course, I'm thinking that nobody can top HMF's videotaped reactions and Cat's song-and-dance routine from the DIScademy Awards Ceremony last week! Those were CLASSIC! :woohoo:

Yeah, too many classics from this past month or so! Some great times! :goodvibes

Sadly no..... I wish I was cooking up some shenanigans. But had dinner plans with some friends that we had made awhile ago that I couldn't break. Man that took me forever to get caught up though..... phew. But yay for DISbates, all the candidates, and the Fleagle's!

There was certainly enough excitement in Taunton though even without the fun and thrills of the DISbate.... someone hit a utility pole just a few blocks up from our house.... and Leonardo Dicaprio is going to be just down the street tomorrow filming a new movie called Asheville (I think it used to be called Shutter Island or something like that). So I might take a trip that way tomorrow and see if I can get any pictures of the set and stuff.

This week's Inside the Magic (Show #153) features interviews with two more of the Top 10, David Hawley and Karrie Dunkin.

You can find it at http://www.distantcreations.com/**************

Cool! Post the pics if you get any good ones! (Oh, and hassle DiCaprio for me for bailing on my Pre-Awards Show announcement of the "Best Nickname Generated" nominees. ;) ...Bad traffic!? Come on! He could have come up with a better excuse than that! :rotfl: )

Oh my gosh, I have missed so much! My husband and I have spent all weekend tearing out and replacing our flooring and now I have the whole Disbate to catch up on! I too pledge ten votes per participant, and 100 for the winner...now I have to go back and read this all!

Thanks everyone and especially Fleagle for all your hard work- and welcome to all the newbies! :goodvibes

Good morning gang! (well, almost afternoon for our East Coasters). Taking a quick break from work to say hello. It's kind of sad to see that we seem to have a little bit of DISbate/ Monday morning hang over! Hopefully there will be all sorts of chatter on here once everyone has time to re-read things from last night.

Anyway, I hope you have a wonderful day and I'll see you all later!

Well, I just voted with code zzzzz, are there any codes left?????????????

Ha! That's funny. I think one of my codes once was the call letters/numbers for Tripps radio station. I'm hoping that wasn't a bad sign for me! (but a good one for him, I suppose!)

So who's good with math. With 26 letters and 10 numerical digits to choose from, how many different 5 character codes can there be? I'm sure there's a formula for this, I just haven't taken anything resembling a math class in over a decade!
