we walkup to Chef Mickeys for breakfast to try for a reservation and that if we arrive early, we might have a chance. Will the guard allow the taxi to drop us off at CR to go up and check for possible reservation? Thank you!

I can only say that we have never been stopped by a guard from a drop-off where we weren't staying or had a reservation - using the Minnie Vans and "Black Level" Rideshares ... can't say about Taxis or other Rideshare Levels. I have also used the excuse - I am going to a DVC open-house in other situations - and that usually works as well.

We try to use them for most of our transpo needs - even for a quick transfer to the Rivera for cocktails before dinner - after being in the parks for the morning / mid-day as an example. Typically, they are just waved through or go through the guest lift-gate part of the resort guard entrances.

I think they are more concerned about a vehicle parking in their lot then they are about your reservations. As long as you are not tying up a spot for an extended period of time they will allow entry.

No on the Taxi as it’s a gamble if they’ll let you in. Yes on the MV as they can drop at any Disney hotel as part of their policy.

I would set a free dining alert to watch for an ADR if you want to assure yourself of the res. Phone CMs are notorious for sounding like they know things and being utterly incorrect.

I’m not sure if you mean the taxi waits while you go up to check for a reservation or not but we have used NON Minnie van ride share to go to numerous resorts including the contemporary with zero issues
