CM Spouse Pass Questions

Late this summer, DW and I moved to Orlando from Wisconsin. DW now is a part-time CM. She has received her Main Entrance Pass along with the three guest passes and a spouse pass for me. I have a few questions about the spouse pass:

1) I know I can use it to get myself into the parks on 16 different days, does the 16 days reset at the end of the year? (I know that if I use the spouse pass it deducts from the same 16 days that the guest passes can be used.)

2) If I use the spouse pass to go without DW, will I be able to link the card to MDE app to search for same day fastpasses?

3) If I go by myself, does the spouse pass entitle me to free parking?

Thanks for any answers y'all can give! I know DW could access this information on the Hub, but right now she is a little busy getting through training and adjusting to the new job.

Your best bet is to have her look things up in the hub or the CM section of Dis. It’s been about 3 years since I had a spouse pass, but I remember that the benefits did change some from year to year. There are some blackout dates. That’s when we used the guest passes. But it really takes the CM being very involved in any planning. Blackout dates changed on us a week before a trip. Luckily, in our favor. I wanna say, we were able to make fastpass reservations 10 days in advance. And you can connect it in MDE. I only went without him once and I’m pretty sure I got to park for free. But most of the other in park discounts required his cast member ID.

Yes

Because the FP was initially made on the CM's MDE account, and I've never attempted to do it, but I think any changes or additions have to be done there as well.

Yes

I would check the HUB and skip the DIS CM section.

I'm a recent WDW retiree with a Main Entrance Pass and over the 22 years I was active, my Main Entrance Pass changed very little over that time.

The Blockout, that's what Disney calls them, dates are posted on the internet.

Yup

Unfortunately it's only seven days out.

If you had a spousal pass, it is free.

Some do but the spousal pass allows the spouse to take advantage of some of the inpark benefits without the CM being present. It's not just free parking and admission. Allows ask just in case.

Everything FastPasser said. My wife has been a cast member for almost 15 years. Not only is parking free but you are eligible for any discount she is also eligible for while in the park as long as you have your Spouse Pass and valid state issued I.D. Don’t forget you can also go to Property Control and Cast Connection without your spouse as long as you bring the pass and an I.D. Who doesn’t love official theme park merchandise that has been discontinued and is sold for huge discounts. January is a great time to go as any 2019 labeled merchandise is no longer in the parks. A sweatshirt with 2019 on it that sold for $50 in park on Dec 31st will about $15 at Cast Connection in January. Just remember, it’s like a thrift shop. Sometimes items are there sometimes not, just depends on the season.

Thanks everyone for your replies! We went to the parks for the first time since DW started as a CM. Linking the passes to MDE was easy as was parking and getting into the parks.

Can I shop at the Company D store with just my Spouse Main Entrance Pass? Or does my husband (company employee) need to be with me?

Man I thought the spouse pass was unlimited visits just like the main entrance pass. If not, then what’s the point of it rather than just using one of the guest passes. Sure they can go to the park without the employee but for only 16 days I’d think they wouldn’t want to do that and rather save them to go with their spouse anyway. Plus I’d want to get as many of the guest passes in each of the 16 days as possible.

You can shop all alone. As long as you have the main entrance pass and a state issued I.D. it is not neccessary for the cast member to be with you.
