When we checked in at the SL, I asked the CM if I could use my easy pass as payment and he looked shocked and said "yes, how did you know about that? Have you been here before?" When I said yes, he went on to ask when and how long we'd stayed for and he genuinely seemed amazed that we would have 2 6 day stays at DLP within such a short space of time.

I couldn't help but wonder what his reaction would've been like if I'd been one of the more regular DISers :rotfl2:. So my question is, what kind of reactions have you had from CM's when you tell them it's your 20 oddth visit :rotfl: ?

The CMs normally have a bit of a huddle before they say welcome back at DCR :thumbsup2

I tend not to disclose how many times I've been to DLRP unless asked about it by a CM, however they often stare in disbelief and then start quizzing me on how the park used to be, kinda like they don't really believe that I have been 17 times (this year I have 18,19 and 20 booked :thumbsup2 )

My Dad on the other hand gets stopped by everyone and talked too, discounts in restuarants, upgrades in hotels, free stuff chucked in with his bookings etc. This is mainly when wearing his 'Opening Crew 1992' jackets, t-shirts and waterproof jackets.

Dad got a free upgrade from the Santa Fe to the Hotel New York once when checking in wearing his jacket :thumbsup2

My Dad is one of the few people I could have a tour round the park with as he has so many little stories about how it was built etc and mainly what him and his friends got up to, some of which definatly can't be published on a family forum.

aww your dad is so lucky, bet he could tell a few good stories!!:thumbsup2

Probably sounds odd, but that is one tour I would willingly pay for. :thumbsup2

I'd be more interested in his personal recollections than a CM reading a script...

Wow! You're dad is really lucky. And you too, it must be great having someone to be able to tell you all about all the secret stuff

ETA: I agree with Torchy and PoppyOlivia. It would be far more interesting

Me too. :thumbsup2

Cap'n, you and your dad could start up your own tour company! :rotfl:

I want your Dad to take me on a tour too! Perhaps he should consider writing a book on the insider's view - it could rival The Brit's Guide! He would have some ready-made buyers on this forum.:thumbsup2

What a great idea :thumbsup2 I was going to suggest he started up a business giving secret tours of DLP :rotfl2: but I would love the idea of reading a book written by an insider. But then, if it was in a book, it would all become more common knowledge

Me too and I think it's definitely something no cast member will be able to do. Even if they knew all the little secrets, it wouldn't be as interesting coming from someone who's been told what to say by DLP. I think Cap'n's Dad would be in high demand :rotfl:

Cap'n Jack's Dad's Unofficial Insider's British Guide to DLRP

has a certain ring to it. Tell your Dad he can use that title, John. As long as he mentions me in the credits, or perhaps dedicates the book to me - for being his inspiration and all that.

:rotfl: Should be DISers guide though ;) we can't have any Tom, Dick or Harry reading it :lmao:

Of course! It should read:

Cap'n Jack's Dad's Unofficial Insider's British DISer's Guide to DLRP

Viv, you might have to get a mention now too. Perhaps Cap'n Jack's Dad would like to use some of my blurry photos to illustrate his guide.:thumbsup2

Whoops! Forgive the oversight. I also think you can't write a guide without the word 'Ultimate' included:

Cap'n Jack's Dad's Unofficial Insider's Global DISer's Ultimate Guide to DLRP

trips off the tongue, doesn't it?
