Hey Everyone, I have been reading on here about part time and seasonal CMs who work mainly just for the perks and discounts. Since I am considering partially retiring in October I have toyed with the idea of part time Disney employment.

My questions are these. First do CMs get a discount at the Fort ? And do they get any priority in booking a site ?

The reason I ask is that if I did work part time I would like to bring my Pop-up there and live and work for say a one month every six or so. Has anyone done this and can answer this ? Thanks.

As a CM you do get a discount at FW. You book your reservations through The HUB (Disney's CM website). I am not aware of any priority bookings for CM. Yes you can book a site a month at a time. Hope this helps

well I've heard of others working to get benefits...I know a guy who works 8 days a month and gets his discount...sorry I can't help with your questions

I work just for the benefits. So far I have not had a problem saving money. It seems every where I go I just flash my CM ID and any available discounts are applied. To me the rewards greatly off set the minimal hours I work.

May I ask what you work and exactly what benifits you have seen so far ? You may PM me if you prefer. Thanks

my friend does the same...he is a Disney Collector and uses his discount to add to his VAST collection when it works....He is 68....

From what I understand, if you want to stay at the Fort for a month at a time, it would be better to book as a guest through regular reservations. CMs DO NOT get priority bookings anywhere. They can get deep discounts, but it's last minute vacancies.

There are few long termers at Ft. Wilderness that work the seasonal thing, but they make their own reservations through the regular channels.

However, the free park entry, and the merchandise and dining discounts, will help.
