CM passes and FP+???

I still don't know how you were able to do that, whether you were supposed to or not. My 17-digit codes under the barcodes on my tix always come up as "invalid numbers."

How odd. My ticket has 20 numbers in the top left corner to input and has been accepted on both tickets. Think I might have to give Disney a call and see if I can get the fast passes for my second ticket seeing as the first one went through.

I have no numbers in the top left corner. What do the front of your passes look like?

See post #8 above. On the HUB it plainly says to NOT link them to the MDE. Don't really understand why everyone wants to bypass what they explicitly say NOT to do.

All of us, you included, on the Confusion Thread were stating eTicket Comps could not be linked to MDE until the GR CM posted to say they could be linked.

My OCD CM DD will not attempt this. She wouldn't even let me tap my Guest Pass to the tapstile until her tapstile Mickeys turned green... while at the same time the Gate CM was looking at me to hurry up!:)

I think Disney needs to work on their employee communication if there is so much confusion floating around regarding the comp tickets. Hopefully we will get some clarification from the Mouse soon :)

Disney addressed this confusion in info sessions this week: the direct answer is no, just like the Hub says. With that said, some CMs have attempted to link, some have been successful and others have not. If the link fails, then the pass becomes invalid and to get it replace can be a long (and in the case of Maingates expensive) process. It's up to each person if they want to take that risk of making the ticket invalid.

With the system constantly changing and growing, what works today may not work tomorrow.

"If the link fails?" I attempted to enter several 1-day PH Cast Distribution comps and each time MDE said the numbers were invalid and that I should check them. Does this mean I have made them invalid and will need to replace them at Guest Relations? That would stink.

There were information sessions last September, October & November concerning this by the NextGen team managers and representatives. The info has been on the HUB since mid January and still people disregard what has been told in meetings and what they have put out on the HUB.

That is how it is to be done on the first use of the day. If a Guest Pass is used at a Touch-Point" prior to the MEP, the iPod Touch that the Park Greeter CM is holding will show Primary not used if the Guest Pass is used prior to the MEP that it is "linked" to. Once the Guest Passes are "activated" for the day, then they can be used in any sequence or alone (without the MEP even being present) for the rest of the day.

I suppose you are right. :) There is nothing on the HUB right now that says you can link any type of complimentary media. As far as information sessions last year...Was that only for Florida cast? I don't recall my DH telling me that he had any meetings like that up here in CT. Being up north, he is not as "immersed" in the on-going discussion about FP+ so maybe that's why we feel like we aren't as up-to-date on things.

And, I think that even more confusion stems from hearing the stories of people who have had success linking certain types of CM tickets and that it's now OK to do so.

I think for now we will follow whatever directions are on the HUB so as not to mess anything up.

I fully understand that. And, when it is obvious it is a Main Gate and a Guest Pass being used, the Gate CM should know not to tell me to begin the tapstile process before the Main Gate access is complete because that info is obviously on the Hub.

I can see how a Guest Relations CM would know that an eTicket Comp converted to a green, hard ticket RFID can be linked to MDE. Anyone off the street can purchase a green, hard ticket RFID with all the rights, privileges, and ability to link to MDE. What denies the green, hard ticket RFID that was given in exchange for an eTicket Comp those rights and privileges? Nothing as per the GR CM.

The ESPN/ABC CMs who have linked eTickets and scheduled Fp+ rarely report back after their park visits. I only recall one DISer from CT reporting that the MagicBands for park entry and the pre-selected Fp+ worked without a problem. No one else ever takes the time to report back probably because what they did was contrary to what is stated on the Hub.

I think I will just book FP+ fordd as a resort guest, and use each CM pass each day....wont bother trying to link them to her MDX. Thanks guys.
