CM missing from Wonder 03/22/11??

I guess I am missing something. How does ANYONE know the details of the conversation except the person at the other end? Are cast member phone calls recorded? I just don't understand how they "know" what the conversation was.

Take the time on the CCTV footage, cross reference with telephone records, dial the relevant number(s) and ask the person at the other end what the conversation was. That's the way I think it would be done.

YIKES! The point of THIS thread, which the mods have frequently tried to remind people, is to offer prayers and wishes. No one is saying not to talk about what happened, but not to talk about it in this thread! It is an ongoing investigation, therefore we should not have speculation, etc. Once again, I would like to offer my prayers and well wishes to Rebecca's family and friends during this difficult time in their lives.

We should not speculate because its an ongoing investigation? This is an internet board about Disney Cruises - not a formal investigation. I've requested from the board moderator an appropriate title to split off conversation from the "mourning thread" so that we can discuss legitmate potential safety and other issues surrounding this tragedy that would affect the peace and enjoyment of future cruisers (as has been suggested several times before by other posters).


PS - if you want the thread to only be about sympathy wouldn't it be easy just to change the name of it to something else?

Thank you for the article. I am sorry that the family has not yet had the answers they need. Very heartbreaking and we coninue to pray for thier family and Rebecca.

I just want to point out something in the article. It is mentioned that passengers were asked to keep an eye out for the missing CM - at no time were we shown a picture or was it asked of us to watch for her (granted, had I noticed anything I thought I should bring up - I would have in a heartbeat) We only knew her name but nothing else from the ship's announcements. It was only through CMs that we learned what department she worked in and some info about her. There were some things that were noticable on the ship about the investigation but since it has not been announced by DCL, I will not bring it up here.

I never felt that we were not safe onboard and always felt that DCL was doing the best they could to take care of everything. They are missing a member of thier family and they was to find her. Most importantly, just keep her family in your thoughts and prayers. It is a heartbreaking situation all around and no amount of bickering is going to solve this.

I understand that people feel the need to "know" what is going on but you have to trust to a certain degree that this was an isolated incident in regards to what exactly happened. To my knowledge the guests were not questioned. I am aware that they checked our cabins and I would have expected them to.

Please keep her family in your prayers - I can not begin to imagine the pain they are going through and I pray for a timely answer to this young girls disappearence.

There were some things that were noticable on the ship about the investigation but since it has not been announced by DCL, I will not bring it up here.

Sady, bad things happen, everywhere, everyday. A cruise ship is a huge population. And Disney is no different. We are all saddened by the disappearance of a DCL CM. It is a horrible thing. But some here make it sound as if things are being hidden or not being looked into. How can anyone here, on these boards, say this kind of thing with any authority??

Yes, everyone sends prayers out to the poor family...understandably so. I can't imagine a worse thing for a parent. But, to post here about how worried you are about your children being watched over by 'who knows who' now is just a bit over the top. We have no idea what happened to this young woman. There are various scenarios. And most don't lead anyone to thinking about some kind of nut job watching our children in the kids clubs. I mean really??!!
But to come here, day after day, and complain about not getting info??? Seriously?? Do you really think Disney is going to allow their CMs to post on internet sites about anything they might know?? Yeah, sure that's going to happen. That CM would be out of a job so fast his/her head would spin.

Posting photos of this young woman? To what end??? I'm sorry, but I just think this is getting crazy. We may never know exactly what happened. I'm sure Disney is holding back the details on the last phone call for a reason. And I seriously doubt it's just to annoy DISers!!
Sorry but I just had to get that said. I feel awful for this poor family. And I hope, by some miracle, this young woman is found, safe and sound. But all the 'goings on' here on this thread are just 'out there'. We aren't getting info??? Seriously??? I can't imagine why anyone would think they should be getting more info. I doubt our children are in any kind of danger on the Wonder, or any other Disney ship.

I thought I read something that someone said they saw her jump off the ship at 3:00.

Also, she made a call at 5:30.

If someone saw this why was no one alerted at that time. That just doesn't make a whole lot of sense that if someone saw her, that they wouldn't be screaming their lungs out to stop the ship.

The whole thing doesn't make sense.

Its not that im not interested its that there is no way for us to know, so why spend the rest of the day posting theories about the phone call? There is no answer, someone from DCL is not going to post and tell you that you are correct, it's pointless.

I do not want to sound insensitive here, but isn't it clear as day that there is not going to be a "miracle" or some good news? She was on the ship, clearly made a phone call, and then she was gone. They have searched the entire ship, top to bottom, she is not there. Isn't there only one answer here, and that is she went overboard. I'm so very sorry for her family and friends, but to hold out for some great news, is just not realistic. Am I the only one that sees this so clearly?

Apparently there are conflicts in the reports written by the various news sources. This is not random rumor, but reported by Cnn, Msnbc, and various other sources.

If your so bothered please refrain from commenting, just move on.

I'll be sailing soon on a Disney ship, and am very interested in how this tragic incident is being handled. Apparently many others are too.

Of course we have prayers for the families and other cast members. But, some things that are being reported by various news sources do not seem to add up.
