Tell your daughter that both of her friends are on the ship and are safe. its nice to hear that we make such an impact on the junior cruisers.

What you CMs in the children's program do for some kids is so wonderful:) My autistic stepson was on the Wonder last year and didn't want to go to 'the nursery' but tried it anyway. After that he didn't want to leave & has talked about his 'family' there ever since. You made him feel part of the group even though he is 'different'. Thank you

If you have concerns contact DCL with them. No one here has the answers.

Isn't that the point of the boards? Information? You could say that about any posting for any topic on the board. Kind of a confusing comment you made there Mod.

Your concerns were addressed a few pages back as Silly Little Pixie stated in her post.

MJ

Just looking for the most recent info....this is a rapidly changing case. Moreover, looking for detail. These are people that are going to be around our children and nothing wrong with asking about it.

The information that some people are looking for in this particular thread is not info that anyone here is privy to so contacking DCL would be the best source of info if they choose to release it to the general public.
Yes, the boards are for information and most of what is given by posters is from personal experience.
So the suggestion the Mod gave was the best one for this particular thread. If you do not like the info the Mod has provided please feel free to contact the admins of DIS and express your concerns there.

Just askin'. I thought there were lots of people from the ship who worked there and people who recently cruised that might have info and that people's personal experiences are why we come to the disboards. Also, I said I was confused by the Mod's comments - not complaining.

Cruisers from last week's cruise have stated in this thread they were not privy to and do not have any info related to this case other than to say they heard announcements looking for the CM.

As prior posts point out, the fact Disney and the investigator(s?) could not share more information with the family of the CM is being predicated on the notion that release of information now could comprise the investigation.

That could be true...if there is an actual scenario or set of scenarios that existing evidence points to. I.e, the content of the early morning phone call, something on security video or eyewitness testimony is suggesting that "x" (or "x" or "y") may have happened. So you withold that detail (particularly if you suspect the event involved others) until your investigation evaluates and eventually identifies the one actual scenario.

However, there is another possibility - that Disney and investigators are facing a "blank slate," i.e. the evidence doesn't point to any particular scenario or possible range of scenarios and they are in essence stuck where we all are: the CM just disappeared.

If that is the case, the clock is ticking and the BMA and Disney (I have yet to see any proof that any other parties are actively involved in investigating this) can only carry on the "investigation is continuing" thing so long before tempers over in the U.K. really start to flare.

And we all hope it doesn't come to that.

What about people that work on the ship? Isn't that a valid source of info? Haven't there been postings of new info since the OP? is it OK to ask questions? Or are we to rely on old info on a fast changing topic? You could probably resolve this by having a sympathy thread of somekind and a "just the facts" thread where the two would not cross.

It seems that there is a group of people that just want to mourn - which is fine enough and I respect that. But interspersed with that is factual info about the cruise which is also important. Because there is only one topic on this there seems to be alot of finger pointing, blame game and censorship over the somewhat mixed nature of the post.

The name of the post is "crew member missing...???" which seems to suggest a question which people maybe coming here for an answer (like the news crew did). Maybe you should create a second topic?

Who in the world are you? It's like you just keep coming back to this thread to stir the pot, over and over again.

Not sure if you read the earlier posts by crew members, but they were asked to NOT discuss this matter. The crew is respecting Disney's wishes and not discussing it.

We really don't need to be battling back and forth over this. If anyone wants more info there's Google and other search engines out there that can be utilized to look for more info on one's own.

With repect to everyone.

I really think the time has come to stop spreading rumours, unsupported theories, quoting the news agencies that have only heresay as no official details/information has been released.

It time to let the family deal with this as best they can and support them with our prayers and best wishes.

As we all know now some cm's read the diz broads and have expressed dismay very all the 2nd guessing. Its time to let all the various groups and investigative agencies do thier jobs, and when all the detials are ready the reports will be issued.

My family and I have been praying that she somehow shows up well and safe.........

Believe it or not, some cases END that way. No answers, no explanations. Sometimes people just disappear, even off of cruise ships. All it takes is one tiny blind spot in camera coverage to miss the person going overboard/whatever.

If that is the case, the clock is ticking and the BMA and Disney (I have yet to see any proof that any other parties are actively involved in investigating this) can only carry on the "investigation is continuing" thing so long before tempers over in the U.K. really start to flare.

We all hope? I'm not particularly concerned if folks in the UK, US or anywhere get their knickers in a twist. DCL and BMA can only do what they can do. Eventually, absent any new evidence, the case will simply have to be closed without resolution. NO law enforcement official likes doing it but sometimes that's all you can do.

We should continue to hold out for the possibility of a miracle but also hope that the family finds some sort of peace no matter how it ends.

This horrible news has arrived in the Netherlands also.
There are no words to tell anyone how sad this is.
I hope for all family and friends that they will have an outcome in the next couple of days.
Hoping for the best but expecting the worst.
If it's the worst answer possible they will have an answer so they can live and carry on (the most as possible).
Rebecca, family and friends your in my prayers.

Very well said.... :thumbsup2

CandyMandy,

Thank you for that beautiful photo.

I want to again reach out to the family and offer my prayers and support. Words cannot express the extent of grief and worry for thier daughter.

I agree 100%. It takes time for everyone in law enforcement, or in this case maritime enforcement to put together all of the pieces and come up with a complete picture. As much as wed like to hear it, its going to take time.

The only thing were doing now is to make things harder on the investigators who now have to chase even more heresay, and for the family who has to deal with an already tragic situation.

Lets just keep the Wonders crew, her friends and family and most of all Rebecca in our thoughts and prayers, hope for the best, and let the experts do there jobs.

So if someone gets raped on a cruise ship warnings are posted all over the place - but if someone goes missing that works on the ship (that works with children and where the crime is unresolved) we should just sit back and not talk about it? Just tell me what the rule is and i'll follow it - I just don't think it is being consistently applied.

YIKES! The point of THIS thread, which the mods have frequently tried to remind people, is to offer prayers and wishes. No one is saying not to talk about what happened, but not to talk about it in this thread! It is an ongoing investigation, therefore we should not have speculation, etc. Once again, I would like to offer my prayers and well wishes to Rebecca's family and friends during this difficult time in their lives.

I guess I am missing something. How does ANYONE know the details of the conversation except the person at the other end? Are cast member phone calls recorded? I just don't understand how they "know" what the conversation was.

On another note - I also send prayers to all that were touched by this- both family and extended Disney family.
