Why is the Royal Bahamas Police Force involved (and making statements to the press)? The ship was nowhere near the Bahamas.

The ship's registration is the Bahamas which makes everything the jurisditction of the Bahamas government.

From what I've read it's because the ship is registered in the Bahamas, therefore making it their case.

Looking at history, the fact that the investigation is in the hands of the Bahamas Maritime Authority (BMW) does not bode well for the family of the missing CM. The BMA track record in these situations is not one of diligent, objective detective work - it is one of primarily protecting the interests of the business that register ships there. That is not imply Disney holds any blame whatsoever in this situation, but the BMA is looking out for their interests more than that of the Corians.

Thought I had clicked on the wrong thread for a second when I seen all the happy smilies.

No more info, terribly sad, still hoping for a miracle.

Hey Candy.........I don't know much about the BMA, good or bad, but I would like to read this.....please post the link for this HISTORY?

I would like to point out that the BMA is *leading * mostly in name only, as a courtsey. The vessel operates mostly in US Waters and nearby. There will be many investigative agencies onboard the Wonder, with inspectors that joined in Cabo, and more in LA. Theses groups will of course include (but are not limited to) the USCG, vessel inspection agencies, insurance companies, British authorities as she is a British citizen, US dept. of transportation and likely the FBI, Federal investigative groups, and more I am sure!

All these groups will be issuing reports, both public and private.

My family and I are still hoping and paraying she shows up safe and well

In the UK the word "collect" is used for pick up. If you remember the pager days on the ship " the oceaneer club is closing please collect your child". Words mean different things... it was not cold or harsh, it was just the way the English language is used across the pond.

I was onboard the Wonder and just debarked this morning. There was no delay in debarkation and I did not see any media. I have only seen a little of this thread, and all I can say is, wow. If you were onboard, you would have seen a crew carrying on despite great sadness. Guests were really very classy and sensitive. I didn't even hear of any rumors till Friday afternoon :rolleyes1

The captain kept the guests informed Tuesday. After that, as guests spoke to CMs individually there really was nothing new to say. Our concierge told us that the most thorough search had taken place, starting at one end to another, then top to bottom. They took it very, very seriously. You forget they live and work together for long periods of time. I never once felt DCL was hiding or diminishing any news. It's just that once they ascertained she wasn't onboard there was no news to share. He also told us counselors were onboard for crew to talk with. He said Clayton (CD) took it very hard. I saw this for myself, when at the Captain's Corner Q&A session a guest asked about the search progress. Captain Guus answered and I felt he was as forthcoming as he needed to be with a roomful of people whose business it's really not! He was genuinely very sad. But Clayton, he just put his head on his hands and looked crushed. If you know him, he's never without a smile. It broke my heart and really we could see the crew's emotions without him saying a word. His ability to deal with this privately while maintaining a great atmosphere for a packed cruise of a couple thousand guests speaks volumes to his character.

I know my family is continuing to pray for Rebecca's family, as well as her DCL family.

Thank you for the above information. Honestly, there are a lot of people on this thread that need to just back off and keep quiet. I had no doubts that the ship was being searched, any security videos looked at, etc. It is NO ONES business except the DCL, the crew and the woman's family. Not anyone here, not the press, no one's. The person posting as to it being a crime scene and how BMA is lacking, please, you added nothing to this thread.

It is sad that this woman is missing and I hope that there is some conclusive result.

Pixie, thank you for posting. I've been curious about the mood on board the ship.

Like most of you I am too hoping for a miracle. I thought there might be a more definitive statement from DCL today, but it's not looking like we'll get one.

The mood onboard was still good. We had an amazing cruise and the crew kept up a great atmosphere. They are very good at keeping the show going, and making you feel special! As our concierge said, this is uncharted waters for DCL.
