CM Main Gate Pass and Comp Tickets

Is there any issue with a CM using their main gate pass to enter a park in the morning, and then a comp ticket at another park in the evening (comp ticket needed because it’s a blocked-out day for the second park)? Or is this akin to a regular guest using two one-day tickets in the same day (i.e. not allowed)? Does the CM need to tell them at the first park or at guest services to use the comp ticket and not the main gate pass so there’s no issue later in the day?

(Thanks in advance for any insight you might have. The CM in question is my friend and travel companion who works for a Disney sub far, far away from any of the parks, so she doesn’t have a lot of info on this stuff. Although she has access to the Hub, it can be a bit of a maze to find info sometimes, and since I like hanging out on the Dis, I often find it easier to get questions answered here than she does looking at the Hub. Appreciate any insight you might have, and if there's a better place for me to post my question, please let me know!)

The CM just needs to use the Comp Ticket at the first park of the day and then hop to the 2nd park. Comp Tickets are park hoppers.

Thanks hiro! If both the main gate and the comp ticket are linked to her MB, is the only way to ensure the comp ticket is used at the first park to go to guest services and have them prioritize it? I was hoping to avoid this step, but it's no problem if that's the only way to do it.

It's easier to have her print out her Comp Ticket and use it at the entrance and it gets exchanged for a hard ticket. Probably a little faster than waiting at Guest Relations. Then she can use the ticket or her MB at the blocked out park (MK).

My husband is a CM and this summer we are going to use his main gate pass for the first time. He is under the impression that the Maingate pass will get us in on blackout days, but that guest passes won't be usable, only the comp tickets for our kids. Is that wrong?

If guests are blocked out, then the only way they can enter is by using a Comp Ticket. I'm not sure about Spouse Main Gates as we always enter with our CM daughter.

Is this possible if the comp ticket has already been linked in MDE (and therefore, I assume is already on her MB)? Wasn't sure if you can only get a hard ticket for a paper comp ticket that hasn't already been linked.

On a related note, is it possible for me to use one of the guest passes at AK in the morning, and then use a comp ticket for MK in the evening? And if I did that, could I hypothetically get a set of FP+ for AK on the guest pass and then for MK on my MB through the comp ticket?

The Comp can be exchanged for a plastic ticket.

Your friend will have to use her Main Gate at AK if you enter as a Guest. But you can do what you are proposing. You should have linked the Comp Tickets to your MDE and not hers.

The actual CM can get in on a blackout day, unless it's a self-admission blackout day. Last year, that was for the 24 hr party at MK and when Mark Hamill was appearing for Star Wars Weekends at the Studios. So far May 22nd, is a blockout day for self-admission at MK. Spouse and guest passes are blocked on regular blackout days, and people will need to use comp tickets or regular admission ticket media.

Thanks so much for your responses hiro! I really appreciate it!!

Just want to confirm if I'm understanding correctly... is this scenario possible?
AK AM:
- CM can use her main gate pass (FP+ booked on her MDE)
- I can use a guest pass (FP+ booked on her MDE)

MK PM (blocked out day):
- CM can exchange a paper comp ticket for a plastic ticket (FP+ can be booked at a kiosk in park)
- I can use a comp ticket already linked to my MB (FP+ booked on my MDE)

Thanks again :-)

She can link her Comp to her or your MDE and pre-book FPs. Then at the FP tapstile she taps her MB or her ticket. A Comp Ticket acts as any other ticket. Any ticket linked to MDE opens the FP booking window and FPs can be selected with it.

:thanks: for all your help!
