:goodvibes Hello all! I was originally booked for POP June 19th thru 25th. Have been calling everyday to try to get AP rate on something (decided too late to get AP, cannot find room with code this late). Called yesterday and the CM that was helping me dropped my POP reservation, wihtout asking me first! Apparently, she assumed I wanted the CSR AAA rate that came up for that week because I told her that rate sounded good. I wanted to cry, but did not know what to do. called back countless times last night trying to get my POP back and no luck. So...we are now booked at CSR for June 19th thru 25th. Need less to say I am upset.

Anyway, I have found out that I can book the POLY that week at AP rate of 254.00 per night, making it approx. $700.00 more for the week than CSR. Do I dare go for it, or settle for CSR. Keep in mind that I was originally paying 112.00 per night for POP preferred room, I am now paying 140.00 per night AAA rate at CSR. Do I dare go any higher? Is the monorail worth $700.00?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

IMO stay at CSR, this resort is worth the additional $28.00 per night over POP. Just the use of the refridgerator is worth staying at CSR. Plus you have Market Garden and Maya Restaurants. CSR's big pool and slide especially in June will be a big benefit.

I have stayed at the poly, I would go for it. You cannot beat getting oonto the monorail right from your resort!! It was a great time and we hope to stay there again...

I've stayed at both Poly & CSR. In my opinion, you'd certainly be happier at CSR than at POP. CSR is a very nice resort (am staying there my next trip).

I loved the Poly but if you're concerned about the budget, I don't think it's worth the extra money. If your budget isn't a problem, of course you'll like it better. It's a deluxe and the grounds are beautiful.

CSR does have some advantages over Poly. IMHO - a nicer pool, and a hot tub which the Poly doesn't have.

I think you'd be happy at a either - it's a question of whether you want to spend the extra money.

I love the Polynesian. And would almost always reccomend it!

However, in your situation, I don't know if I would do it. To go from $112 to $254/night is a HUGE leap. $700 could buy a lot of Mickey Bars or even an Illuminations Cruise! Heck, it could buy FIVE Illuminations Cruises!

Between the fridge and the theme pool and slide, $28 more per night would be worth it. But $142 more per night?

I dunno. Just my $.02! :)

But $142 more per night

No way...$250/night isn't that good of a rate for Polynesian. Even with the monorail, I haven't gotten to MK any faster from Polynesian than I have from AKL, CSR, or any other resort.

Save the $700 and put it toward another trip. It will pay for most of the cost of POP for another stay! I'd rather have 2 nice trips than one expensive one!! CSR is a nice resort. If you were going to be happy at POP, you'll be happy at CSR.

CSR is very nice and I think you'll enjoy it. I couldn't see paying that much for the Poly unless it was a very special occasion (like a big anniversary). :earsboy:

Stick with CSR. Sounds like this was a nice mistake. I think you'll like it and it's still within the budget.

The POP ressies being lost is the best thing that could have happened to you. IMO the Coranado Springs Resort is the Best Moderate and is a MUCH better value at 140. The DIG SITE pool at CSR is awsome as is PANCHITOS SUNDRIES. Request a room in the Cabanas and you will be set!!!!

I agree that the change from POP to CSR is a good move and a good value. But, I'm in the minority because I'd switch to Poly. June is already really hot in Orlando. If you have kids, you'll love the convenience of the monorail -- hopping right on with the kids in strollers, as opposed to climbing on a bus with stroller in one hand and kid in the other. Also, it's easy to hop the monorail back for naps or swimming.

The Poly has Ohana and 1900 Park Fare and Chef Mickey's are a quick monorail ride away.

If you're all adults, you'll enjoy hopping the monorail to easily the other monorail resorts for dinner, shopping, exploring, etc.

I'd switch!

CSR is nice, but really spread out. If you can afford the extra $700, take the Poly. I have stayed at both. You won't regret the Polynesian one bit. I Can't wait! We will be there in July!

Thank you all for your input. It really is nice to have an outlet like this!

I have decided to stay at CSR. I have two young boys ages 7 & 9 and I think they will like the CSR pool etc. I have called back and requested Cabana section 9B. The ressie is for a water view room, so I hope I have a chance of getting Cabana section.

Again, thanks for all your input......

Check out my website for pictures and video of CSR. It should give you a better idea of what the place looks like. I love it so I am biased. I think the switch is worth it for the bus service alone. As someone else said the free fridge is worth it. We toured around Pop in January and it was packed. People everywhere. The buses were packed to the gills. Maybe it isn't like that all the time but it put us off from staying at Pop. We would stay at the All Star Music any day over Pop. It never felt as chaotic.
