CM cleans table with floor mop...

At first I was going to reply that this isn't that bad. I know in the school cafeteria were I work, they use a mop to clean the tables between lunches. But they have a dedicated short-handled mop in a bucket that clearly says "TABLES ONLY" all over it.
Glad I watched the video, that was truly disgusting.

Saying she wasn't a CM, but a contract worker doesn't make the table any less dirty. Why did they say that? Like we'll all nod and smile knowingly and feel bad for WDW for the contract company not having better training standards or something?

This makes me sad. I hope WDW makes an abrupt shift BACK to being the leader it once was.

Will we reach a point where ha-ha cuts in hygiene become not-so-funny cuts in safety?

What's going on when you have price increases and staffing cuts at the same time? Where's the money going?

Come on WDW! Rally! Turn this thing around.

Yeah, I don't get that "she's a contract worker" thing.

That sort of thing should only matter to Disney. Their use of cheaper contract workers mitigates that in NO WAY.

But I suppose it's terribly hard to defend the indefensible.

Let me help them. "That was not up to Disney standards. The worker has been let go and we are starting a retraining process for the rest of the staff."

Sadly out sorting is happening more and more with many companies. However whether it is 3 rd party or not, this shows a lack of common sense training!

They fired the lady. I believe fire the person who was in charge of training and then retrain the lady!

Disney always pulls this 3rd party blame, there was a death a few years ago with Magical Express and here is Disney's response - "Disney officials confirmed the crash, saying the Magical Express is a Mears Transportation-owned and operated bus service that runs between Orlando International Airport to Walt Disney World." So without even offering condolences, they shift potential blame to Mears. Maybe it's for lawsuits but I don't like them not taking any accountability ever, for any reason.

Next time my husband complains that I am a freak when I wipe down the table with clorox wipes I am going to show him this video. So gross!! I get lack of training and lack of quality employees but common sense says you don't wash something people eat on with something used to clean where they walk.

Reminds me of the cleaning service we ended up booting at work. The maid was using the toilet bowl water to mop the floors and clean the walls in the bathroom. I guess she was too lazy to use the mop bucket, or didn't want to dump it after the job.

The way they responded really says so much about where the company is heading. It also says so much about what the public is willing to accept! Seems crazy to me and honestly I would expect more of an outrage from its customers!

The fact that this thread was moved to the Rumors/News thread has me scratching my head. This should be on the front page which here is the Theme parks strategy threads. What is more of a strategy than bring CLOROX wipes with you to WDW because of (insert video here)! I realize this site makes its money on peoples love of Disney but seriously it should not be buried. People taking notice of this stuff is what will result in the change.
