We are booked on the Norway cruise at the end of May and I'm planning on surprising my 7 yr old daughter at Christmas with a 'pass the parcel' type gift - wrapped paper layers with a clue on the outside of each layer. So far I have though of 'It'll be June but where we are going will be 'cold cold cold cold cold'. Does anyone have any other ideas to indicate Norway/Frozen/the Disney boat? We are also going with our friends from Atlanta (we are in the UK) who we met 5 yrs ago on our first cruise and have stayed friends since, this will be the best part of the trip for her! I had thought of putting their photo inside and some disney confetti, any other ideas of things I can wrap?

Thanks for your help... I'm soooo excited

I love surprising my kids too! Let me think, maybe a Norwegian flag, a little troll, do you happen to have a little shampoo/conditioner/lotion from an old cruise that you haven't used (or am I the only crazy one that collects them :)) I like the picture with the confetti idea. I'll keep thinking.

Let's See

  • You'll get to eat Mickey Bars
  • You'll get to meet Anna/Elsa
  • Oslo is the capital of the country (she might be too young for that)
  • Let's hope you don't get sea sick
Good Luck

Nice trip but I don't think it will be really cold in Norway in June

Depends on where you are. It was in the 40s in Geiranger last June. 50s most other ports. By contrast back home in the US it was 80 at our house!

You could also throw in something from Frozen....

Very exciting!

Love the picture idea!

What boat are you going on? Maybe one of the clues could be centered around that

You could write MAGIC on a piece of paper but mix up the letters so she has to unscramble the letters to figure the word out. :)

Since you have a little time, you could create a puzzle of a picture that would mean something for the trip. Perhaps a picture of Norway, the Magic, Frozen, etc. My DS collected a flag from every country we visited on our Norway/Iceland/Scotland (and we threw in Denmark, Sweden, France, and England) so he LOVED his flags. My DS was 11 on the sailing and has always been in to Geography so not sure your daughter would be, but I do 2nd the idea of the Norwegian flag and Amazon should have them.

Have fun - I love surprises :)
