Club level PBH - fruit?

Hi! I am booking Aug 22 - 26th in a "club deluxe" room at PBH (Haven't booked yet but will today probably).

I am wondering if in the morning there is some fresh fruit? I don't do a lot of breakfast (egg white omlettes mostly) but would like my family to have fresh fruit. Otherwise we can do a grocery stop on the way and pick some up.

Also, has anyone had a fridge due to medical reasons? At any other hotel we've never been charged. My DS has some severe food allergies, and I need to keep some safe food available to him. I understand I'll need to call the front desk myself as reservations wouldn't be able to answer this. Just wanted to see if anyone else had any good experiences with this.

Can you ask for a beer at any other time of the day than what is stated on their website? Like 3:30 pm? I don't see doing that a lot, just wondering. I actually prefer to be out people watching if I'm having a beer anyway, but in the August heat and possible rain showers in the afternoon, we'll probably go back to the hotel for breaks.

Can you take a glass of wine or beer back to your room? I'd assume you can, as at all other hotels with club levels that I've stayed at you could (except the Washington Hilton and Towers, ugh, what horrible service that place had! We had to stay there for a Marine Corps birthday ball, otherwise I would have left! Sorry to rant...)

Thanks in advance! We are looking forward to our first time trying Universal!

yes there is fruit - cut and sliced and also whole bananas and apples.

my son also has allergies and we get a medical needs fridge. Call and have it noted on reservation and remind them at check-in also. We have never been charged for it.

we have asked for beer many times before five- usually around 4-5 time frame and they have always been happy to get it for us. You can bring wine and beer back to the room.

We were at the Portofino last week. The first few days we were there the club room served whole bananas and apples (the apples were terrible though) and wonderful strawberries and cut up cantaloupe during breakfast. One of the days pineapple cubes were there instead of strawberries. I forget whether it was during the late afternoon or evening, but the club room served canned peach slices in cocktail glasses.

You mentioned egg whites and or eggs, there was nothing like that served at breakfast. Breakfast was bagels and toast, muffins and sweet rolls, fruit, yogurt, a large selection of breakfast cereals, and hot oatmeal. There was coffee, tea, hot chocolate, milk, oj, apple juice, water, and soda. (The last two were in bottles and available all day long.

If you want raw veggies, during the appetizer hour, they set out a veggie platter with an assortment of vegetables not just celery and broccoli.

Thanks so much, guys! I will ask for the fridge and call again to make sure we get it.

I knew the breakfast offerings were continental style - I just like egg whites here at home. I'm always hungry for protein in the morning, but like to watch the cholesterol! Cereal and stuff is fine also, plus if it's included in the room rate I'll take advantage of it.

I sounds like it's gonna be nice - booking today!

Another question: I guess you get a discount on the cabana rental. I may do that our last full day. That sounds like a fun way to spend the afternoon by the pool (barring any storms which is possible in August I know!). Do you know what the rate is for someone in a club room? I heard it's half off, but now sure.
