In June my family will be spending 7 days at the Pop Century and then Moving over to Universal. I really want to stay at the Hard Rock (Musician husband, would love it!). The thing is I would really love to stay at club level, but can only afford the Club level at the Royal Pacific. Can anyone tell me if Club Level is really worth it at Hard Rock or Royal Pacific? Is the service better?

I stayed at the Portofino Bay in 2001 and it was a beautiful hotel (The bathrooms are to die for.) But except for the really nice waitress in one of the restaurants, the service was indifferent. Almost bordering on snotty.

We have only stayed club at the royal pacific and are staying there again in June. The people on the universal boards say that even though the royal pacific is cheaper, they like the club much better than at hard rock. They said the food selection is better and the people are nicer.

We like to spend the extra money because we like the breakfast and snacks and we also like to use the lounge. They had 2 DVD players and lots of DVDs and the kids would watch while DH and I read the papers and relaxed.

Thanks! We were also thinking that having breakfast for all of us, was great. I don't eat much but my son (who is 7), has a hollow leg and can eat his share and more. I just want this to be a nice vacation. My mom is recovering from cancer and my dad died in December, so this is a treat for her since she's had a rough time of it. The DVD thing is also great for my son, a bonus for sure.

Hubby want's Hard Rock though, I prefer more relaxed kinda atmosphere. So Royal pacific might be better.

Do you have AAA or an AP for Universal? Many times the AAA rate is cheaper than the AP rate. It just depends on your dates. The AP for Universal is only about $179.00 and can save you a lot of money on hotel rooms and around the parks.

Personally we prefer Royal Pacific's club lounge. It's smaller and more personal. The staff was much friendlier to us. I have done all three and RPR was by far the best.
I hate that PBH's club room is away from the rooms. I like it confined to one floor.
Food selections were about the same at HRH & RPR.
