Club Cool? Still at Epcot?

Club Cool was there as of 2 weeks ago, but most of the units didn't have options in it. For PP, Club Cool is a Coca Cola store that also has samples of Coke products from around the world. It's nice to try some of the options. And they have some neat Coke stuff in there. We always get something for my mother in law because her kitchen is Coke themed.

As for Beverly...it's a bitter flavored soft drink I believe from England. I tried it after reading about it on the Dis because I had to... I think that was about 4-5 years ago. Anyway, I tried it with my dad right by me. He didn't see my reaction, but asked about different flavors so I told him he HAD to try the Beverly. I still chuckle at his bitter face reaction followed by "that tastes like crap!" Still gets a chuckle out of me...

Finally made it in to Club Cool while we were on vacation last week. I had read about it years ago and had always wanted to check it out, but for some reason kept passing it by. We're always looking for different, inexpensive things to do in the parks and free drinks from around the world fit the bill perfectly. My favorites were those from Israel, Costa Rica, & Germany. Should have checked this thread before going though so I could have avoided the bitter one. Oh well, I guess it's all part of the experience. This will definitely be a stop on future trips.

We've never done Club Cool, so I'm excited to do it in September, when we go. However, this whole talk about Beverly scares me. My DH doesn't DIS, so I'm gonna make him try it first. :rotfl: Then I'll try it so I can come back and share my experience. Does anyone know what country BEverly is from?

:rotfl: This is the same thing I was thinking of! My husband doesn't read DIS,and there's certain information I've been holding back on. THIS is one! ;) :lmao:

Does that make me a bad wife?

If it makes you a bad wife then I'm a bad wife and mom. I did this to my DS while DH wasn't watching.....then my DS got my DH to try it. Even though my DH had remembered it from a previous trip (with our older DS) he went along with it and made a face and a big "yuck". My DS thought it was so hilarious that he had fooled dad.:rotfl: Make sure to have your camera ready;)

Not at all, I also did tis to my DH and my kids:laughing::laughing:

Wasn't there a thread not too long ago of pix of people trying Beverly? That was hysterical.

This is a must-stop for our family! My kids love the watermelon flavor -- last time we were there, we all had to get little cups and go outside and pour them into DS14's water bottle so he could drink as he walked.... DIS sin? If it is, I don't care!

I love the watermelon drink as well. Yum...I wish I would have tricked my DH about the Beverly...but I warned him first. Oh well

I didnt warn my poor fiance and i laughed so hard when he tried it! bahahha

gotta love disboards! thank gosh i read it BEFORE i went.... he didnt get the memo.

What's interesting about Beverly is that it's sweet on the tip of the tongue but then turns bitter as it goes down the throat... :lmao:

I wonder what different foods would complement it... like wine... finding the proper food pairing could bring out the best in Beverly.. :thumbsup2

I mean Coke sells Beverly on purpose for people who Like it right? :rolleyes1

Tried it the other day. Don't hate it, don't like it, it tasted like a shot of tonic water and angostura to me.

It's not from England :scared1:
It's from Italy.
From Wikipedia:
Beverly is a carbonated soft drink often consumed as a non-alcoholic apéritif made by the The Coca-Cola Company and sold in Italy.

The drink's distinctive bitter flavor (sometimes described as like battery acid) is due to quinine[1]. Quinine is also a key ingredient of tonic water, which is another soft drink noted for a bitter flavor. The bitter taste of Beverly has become familiar to many Americans after trying it at Coca-Cola tasting stations at the World of Coca-Cola museums in Atlanta, Georgia, at Las Vegas, Nevada, and at Club Cool at Epcot in Orlando, Florida.

Beverly will fluoresce under ultraviolet light, owing to the presence of quinine. In fact, the sensitivity of quinine to ultraviolet light (UV) is such that it will fluoresce in direct sunlight.[2]

The drink's distinctive taste has been known to make people throw up, and it is sold as a gag drink, in many Italian themed drink shops.

We love club cool. The kids love the snow on a hot day!

The snow was from the original Club Cool. We loved walking through the "snow" too, and I wish they still had it. :confused3

I enjoy watching newbies first taste of Beverly. We'll sometimes hang out in Club Cool, strategically placed so that we can watch a noob's reaction! :rotfl:

Yes it is still there, but the igloo is gone. When we went a couple of weeks ago, alot of the individual flavors were gone from each port. Like there was only maybe 3 flavor choices in one area, but the other one had them all, and another one had none, etc.

We were just there yesterday. I had DH try the Beverly flavor. At first, he thought it wasn't bad. Then, the aftertaste hit him, and it kept getting worse. :lmao:
