Ok, here is a weird question. What and where is Club 33? My husbands company has a perk of being able to go to this Club 33.
He said something about if we get reservations you get tickets to the park for the day as well. So anyone that can give me any information I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank You,
Wendi

I've walked past the door in New Orleans Square many, many times, but never had the chance to enter. If you can, definitely do it. Here's a link to more info about the club.

I went to Club 33 in July. It's really an experience. If you go for the lunch buffet(what I did)it's $47 per person plus drink, tax and gratuity(our bill was $400 for 6 people!!) With that you get a one day park hopper(it says Club 33 on it good souvenier).

You go to the door next to Blue Bayou(it used to say 33 but when we were there someone swiped the sign)press the intercom and they ask for your parties name, you tell them they verify and let you in. Once you're in it's like another world. You can't hear the noise from the park AT ALL! YOu can either take the stairs or the "lift" take the lift it's fun! and then go upstairs to be seated. They have delicious breads, the pasta they make fresh at the buffet is divine, the prime rib is YUMMY and the desserts are awesome! Make sure to take lotsa pictures and if you plan on buying a 33 souveiner bring lotsa $!!! Be sure to check out the women's bathroom! Ask your server for a tour also, some do(ours didn't).

Have a GREAT time!!

It is VERY exclusive and hard to get into, I have been there once, it's a once in a lifetime experience.

And this is the ONLY place I've ever taken a picture in the ladies restroom!

I've been a few times, it's a nuce break from all the hustle and bustle of the park. They also serve alcohol there which can be good or bad depending on who's sitting by you. Once there was a table of loud, drunk models next to us. On the bright side, once our friends went and sat by Nicholas Cage. When we went lunch was buffet and for dinner we ordered off the menu, if that is still the case I'd go for lunch, the buffet is really great.

Do It! Do It! Do It!

What an incredible opportunity!!!!

I am JEALOUS!!!!!

When I was growing up my family went to DL every summer and we went for dinner there a few times over the years. I had no idea (and of course did not appreciate) how special it was. I remember that back then the menus for the ladies did not have the prices on them only my dad's did! My parents liked it because they could have a cocktail. I of course was very impressed by the fancy food and fact that you pushed a button to go in a "secret entrance" and I also remember there was a little elevator inside too.
I wish I could go now...

We also had the privilege of having lunch there a couple of years ago. It truly was a wonderful experience for a lover of all things Disney. Do not pass this up and do make sure you bring money for some Club 33 merchandise.

I visited the lobby last week during "A Walk In Walt's Footsteps" tour. Interesting but I don't know why Walt decided to include an exclusive private club in a family amusement park. The tour guide did tell us that if you don't buy your Club 33 souvenirs while at the club, you are not given re-entry later in the day (unless you're a member). There is a five year waiting list to join and there are different levels of memberships for sale.

The lift is a replica of one the Disney's saw in Paris.

Supposedly the reasoning behind Club 33 was for Walt to entertain close friends, family and business associates. There is a wonderful web site with the history of the club! I just can't remember the name of the site right now<blush>

Wow this place sounds amazing.

I love the thing about only the mans menu having the prices and not the ladies, isn't that lovely.Don't know how todays emancipated women would feel about that!:p I wouldn't mind though;)

If you have a choice, I'd go for lunch instead of dinner. As others have said the buffet is wonderful. We looked at the dinner menu just for fun and nothing there really jumped out at us. Plus, lunch is a real 'bargain' at only around $50/per person! ha ha! Dinner will cost you more.

Make an early seating (I think ours was at 11 or 11:30) and then you can enjoy a leisurely lunch - we were there until almost 2! We have a great waitress who encouraged us to really enjoy ourselves, we went out to the balconies many times and took pictures (got some great shots of Tom Sawyer's Island from up there!) They have THE best fruit punch there made from all sorts of fresh fruit juices.

I ended up getting a Club 33 pin for around $8.

I thought it was going to be a 'stuffy' experience w/snooty wait staff, etc., but the opposite was true. Even Mickey and Minnie came out to wish a little boy happy birthday and we got some great pictures.

Have a wonderful time!!

Boy, this is sure going to sound weird but I had a couple of bad experiences at Club 33. Back in the 70's, my dad was a member so he took us kids a few times. I kind of remember the Club, but not enough to report about it. (I do remember seeing Dick Van Dy ke, Robert Wagner, Buzz Aldrin, Gene Roddenberry, George Lucas, Ed McMahon and others at the Club over the years.)

When I got all grown up (HA!) I had the opportunity to go a few times and I had a couple of problems there. First off, I have not found the Club to be very kid (or baby) friendly. We have a 4 year old and a 1 1/2 year old and they are very quiet kids. They sat us in the back and everytime the kids would even make a sound, the waitress would run over with a bad look on her face and ask "if there was anything she could do to help" read: is there anyhting she could do to shut the kids up. When I pulled her aside in the lobby, I told her "this is DL and it's a place for kids and their families. I don't understand all the concern when our kids make a noise." She said, "Oh, we just want to make sure that the experience is good for everyone." You know, if they wanted to have an exclusive Club free from kids, then they shouldn't have put it at DL.

Also, I don't find the food to be all that good. I know that it's more of an "experience" thing, but the food has been very hit and miss.

In my business, a Club 33 membership is something that we have considered getting bcause we entertain clients a lot. I had to say no, because it just isn't worth the money, IMHO.

Now, I think that everyone needs to go at least once to see how pretty the place is and experience a place that Walt help design, but I wouldn't spend the money for a membership and I wouldn't fret too much if you don't get in sometime in your life.

Roy

BTW - I remember dinner being $200 back in the early 70's for our family of 5! This is when you could eat at a family restaurant for about $10 for a family of 5.

Is not a place for children, that would be like taking them into a bar.

You don't drag little children to business meetings outside of DL, why would you do it in DL?

Club 33 is for companies to entertain business associates.

For petes sake can't there be a spot in DL for adults.

IMHO the food was GREAT worth every penny.

Rachael

Sorry Poopie but I'd have to disagree with ya a little bit!

I think children can enjoy themselves at Club 33 also. My 9 year old(well 9 on monday! ;) ) Want's to go there for his 10th birthday. He, like mommy, loves to experience anything and everything Disney and he also has a fondness for delicious food(like mommy). I kow he would have a wonderful experience there and he would appreciate it.

I don't think comparing 33 to a bar isn't exactly accuarate. From what I have read the Sunday brunches have character appearances and can be alot of fun. Also, you can get a character appearance at a birthday. For my friend's birthday when we were there she got a wonderful chocolate mousse molded into Mickey.

That said I don't think that I would take my 4 year old to dinner there, maybe a brunch or lunch where it's more casual, but from what I understand(i've only been to the lunch buffet)the dinner is alot more fancy and I think it would just be hard on my 4 year old(he's a restless little guy!).

I do agree that there is nothing wrong with having a spot in DL for the purpose of entertaining business clients etc and having a nice adult dinner.

Poopie....I'm sorry, I beg to differ with you...Club 33 is in Disneyland and Disneyland is a place for kids and families. Disneyland is one of the ONLY places on earth that you can take your kids to restaurants and not feel like you're being a nuisance to the other guests. You want to take clients to a fancy club? Go anywhere else on earth...Irvine, Los Angeles, Burbank, Newport Beach, etc. You shouldn't expect a restaurant at Disneyland to be one of those clubs. I don't mean to poo-poo the Club, but I feel that my experiences at the Club count, too and might be helpful.

Roy

And yes, the food has been hit and miss with me...I've had cold chicken, watered down punch, warm shrimp and fatty and grissily (sp?) pork loin at certain meals during my visits. I think the food is just as good (if not better) at the Blue Bayou. I've found the service to be hit and miss, also. Oh, and our bad kid experience was during the Sunday brunch.

If the children are well behaved then I don't see a problem, but if the little monsters are running around to the point that the wait staff is frowning, then there is a problem.

And I'm really sick and tired of parents thinking Disneyland/Disneyworld is only for their children.

I cannot count the number of times I have had parents shove their children in front of my when it was my turn in line to have my picture taken with a character, nor the number of times I was 1st in line somewhere only to have a parent shove their kid ahead of me. Like I don't count becasue I don't have a kid.

The monorail at Disneyworld for example, I was waiting for the front and after speaking with the cast member, I was told that it was fine, as I headed over a parent pushed their little girl toward the front and she ran into the cabin. The cast member said they were sorry and told me to wait for the next one, they also told me that you would not believe the number of times that people have been yelled at, spit on or hit to get their kids to the front of the monorail.

My point being Disneyland is NOT just for children, you know there are some people who can't have children, who enjoy Disneyland/Disneyworld just as much, so is it to much to ask that one venue be kept elegant and upscale without children running wild?

I think not.

Roy

I'm sorry you had such a bad experience with the food, from what I hear that is a rare experience. The person I went to Club 33 has a membership there and his wife goes there several times a week for lunch and she has never had a bad meal, so she tells me.

Just my opinion

I think that we can all agree that DL is for adults too and I'm sure we call agree that no one wants to see kids running around like "little monsters". That being said, I don't think that anyone should expect Club 33 to be a kids free zone anymore than I would expect kids to be welcome at a Country Club restaurant at an exclusive golf course. When you are at Club 33 you are at Disneyland....basically the most kid friendly place on earth. That friendliness shouldn't stop at the big green door.

Roy

Poopie - My kids weren't running around...the wait staff was frowning at them whenever they made a PEEP. Not full blown crying but just the standard"chirps" that come out of a 1 1/2 year old. My four year old never left her seat, she just gets a little excited sometimes and her voice gets a little loud. This type of activity is heard throughout DL on any given day. It's not something that should be frowned upon at a Disneyland Restaurant.

Club 33 sounds wonderful!! We will be there 9/24 & 9/25. How could we get reservations? I would love to be able to suprise my husband, aunt & uncle. My uncle recently got bad news from his doctor and I know this would cheer him up.
