Club 33 Invitation but cant go .... Help!!!

One of my US suppliers has offered me an invitation to Club33 this year (corporate member) but as we are in New Zealand and not planning on going to US till 2009 we can't go.

Does anyone have experience of these, are they date specific ie can we get them transferred to next year or do we have to give our benefactor our travel dates and they book for us? If so can we book for next year, will they let us book that far in advance?

I believe you can only book 60 or 90 days out--I know it is not unlimited and too early to book for 2009.

They called and set everything up (including paying for everything including tip which was so nice of them!).

Problem is we only buy off them when we do specific projects, my last trip in 2006 involved setting up a buying arrangement and thats when they found out I was over with my family to go to DL, with the latest order they made the kind offer and of course I said yes but we may not buy off them again for another two years. Feel a little strange ringing them next year and saying remember me? Hopefully I will get another project to do with them later in the year or next year...

As for those offering to go in my place lol, in the end might be an option if there is no way for me to go but whoever went would have to buy me some club 33 ears and other souveniers

The way it works, you don't book at all. The member calls and makes the reservation for a specific time and date. I do not know how far out the club will book, but I cannot imagine they would book a year out- memberships renew annually and what if they didn't keep up their membership?

Sadly, your best bet may be to maintain the professional relationship and hope for an opportunity in the future.

Hmmm I can see your problem. That would be an odd conversation! I guess your best bet would be to try and place a small order if you can next year!

lol I know!!!!! Not that easy as we are taking the family to Australia this year, tickets everything booked. Cost for us to get up to LA (from New Zealand) is just too cost prohibitive. We are planning a trip in 2009 so just going to hope for the best and will stay in contact with the supplier (get some quotes for some projects that never seem to quite happen). Awful I know but for Club 33 willing to tell a few little white lies.

No, really though, if at all possible you should go yourself as I think it's pretty much a once in a lifetime opportunity. One I wish we could have, but good luck with making it happen!

If you do decide to make the trip, make sure you will have a range of dates you are there. If memory serves me right, the person who made our reservation for us (Dec. 30th) was not able to do so until Dec. 1st. because they only book 30 days out. I could be wrong on that, but I would hate for you to book plane tickets in advance, and then not be able to get a reservation on those dates. Luckily, I guess if you cant get a reservation outside of 30 days, neither can anyone else, so just call first thing! I hope for your sake that you can make it!

We are going between June 21st and June 28th and are stopping for a week in New Zealand on the way back. We land in Auckland and i am not sure where we will go for the week, as we have not decided yet. I would gladly bring back anything you wanted from there if you really were able to give the reservation away! It would be TOTALLY AMAZING!!! I didn't even know it existed before coming to this forum!!! If we could get to actually dine there that would be SO incredible!

There's a tour that allows for you to go into the lobby, but I can't think of the name of it.

As for the Club 33 thing, I'd like to be considered along with the millions of others who'd give their kidneys to go in your stead, Kiwitravel. If you can, try to go yourself though, you lucky dog, you.
