Just to clarify, the French Lift was repurposed to a booth for 2. You sit in the lift on a bench seat, and they move a table to you. Alice Davis was there to be the first for dinner. She loved the lounge and salon.I loved the beautiful French lift and would have preferred to have it kept as an elevator, even if not a working one, than to turn it into a table. I'm sure others will think it's fine but it makes me want to cry.
I am loving everything! Thank You for the link!
I want one of the Martini glasses too!
Please let us know, if they are indeed for sale at the Club 33
Thank You!

That's high on my list as well. I do need a shot glass as well to compliment my other one.I love those glasses!! I will for sure get one, when I get there!!
How was the Hurricane?
Oh, WOW!!! Thanks so much, Malcon10t!! Those sliders and fries look amazing, and a French martini...!! That's my very favorite drink! I didn't know they had thoseI'm afraid they'll have to carry me out if I get in there to sample
I'm SO glad to hear about the lift. I still don't know if I'll like it as such but it's certainly better than what I thought it was from the picture.
ETA: In thinking about it some more, no, I'm not at all happy about the lift. However, there's not much I can do and it isn't my club so I'll just miss it with all its lift accoutrements. I suppose it would be hard to please everyone 100%
Those drinks look greatHurricane, Bloody Mary, and French Martini

Now all you need is the ice thingie that whoever plans to get and a way to make ice with no air in it. I can't remember how they said they do that. .
Those drinks look great
I'm far from the parks, so a homemade version of a Carthay Manhattan is the best I can do right now

Slow freezing, top-down insulated freezing, twice boiling and slow freezing... they all work. I haven't tried this thing out, but it uses top-down insulated freezing from what i can tell.

Here is the machine they use in 1901. Pardon the fuzzy picture; as I've said, I'm a terrible photographer.

Yes, that forms the clear ice, but it doesn't make the clear ice. You need to start wtih clear ice and then use whatever mold you want (they use the sphere... I want the water molecule one aka the 3D mickey). Getting the clear ice is critical though otherwise you'll have a cloudy sphere/mickey/diamond/soccerball/snowflake/etc..
The detailed recipe was in a food blog (that I cannot findIs Carpano Antica the vermouth they use in a Carthay Manhattan?

Whoa! That's why I stopped making my signature drink, the French martini. The Chambord costs me about $5 per drink! Good thing it doesn't call for Luxardo cherries
ETA: I stopped making it for everyone. I only make it when there are a few of us now.
ok...quick question please.....What exactly is a French martini....? My bar/drink IQ is low, low, low..
It looks interesting....is it a strong, alcohol/mediciney taste? or more of a fruity type?? (HaHa... quite uninformed/clueless descriptions!!)
TIA

Very easy and yummy. Packs quite a punch but doesn't taste like it so you have to watch it, LOL.
1 part pineapple juice (I like to use Pineapple-Orange)
1 part vodka
1/2 part Chambord
put in a shaker filled with ice, shake, and pour!
I use those small cans that come in a 6-pack, which is 2/3 cup. So...2/3 cup juice, 2/3 cup vodka, 1/3 cup Chambord. That makes about 2 1/2 martinis.
I often cut back on the vodka. That's a strong drink!
ETA: Chambord is a French liqueur made from raspberries
