Club 33 expansion and resulting new exteriors

I think this is what people don't get.

We get it, we just don't want it. It is a value judgment, worth, value. Unless a member is not going to miss their money at all, they will.
If I did not have to think twice about the cost versus my financial future, I might join as well. Instead of having to be someome's guest.

And you know this how?

I mean it in the sense that my issues with the renovation/addition have nothing to do with the pocketbooks of the Club 33 members. I do not have a problem with the fact that Club 33 members have enough money to join Club 33.

My point is that the fact that some Club 33 members might not be millionaires is irrelevant to the question of whether Disney acted prudently by renovating in the way they did.

Disney's motivation, on the other hand, is entirely about the pocketbooks of the Club 33 members. Regardless, I still think either: (a) did not more economic harm to Disney than good; or, at a minimum, (b) could have done better economically by renovating in a less intrusive way.

Doing what?
No one is asking anyone to defend their income. I just think some people are idiots.

I agree with you wholeheartedly :) - I am trying to convey that the vocal critics are not upset that the Club 33 members are rich, just that Disney favoring the Club 33 members over the masses is a bad idea.

Okay, let's not turn this thread into a hostile one. (I deleted a few posts.)

We're all interested to see, hear about and discuss the changes that have been made to Club 33 -- for better or for worse; the good and the bad -- but there is no need to let the conversation get derailed.

Thank you, Sherry! :)

You should meet some of the members sometime. You might learn how wrong this attitude is. I know several members. A couple are teachers, one is a bartender, a couple are farmers, one is in the military, a couple I know are police officers, one is a cameraman for TV, and some own their own businesses. To say it is only for the "very wealthy" is wrong. I know one who saved for 12 years to become a member.

THIS. I once thought I could be part of C33.. then they raised the cost of membership... I worked harder... I MAY... and I mean MAY at some time become a member... if I pay my mortgage off because that is what C33 annual dues is at this point... my mortgage. If my family loves Disney enough and we go enough, C33 membership may be an option...at some point. At the previous prices, it was almost assured... at the new ones... we'll see.

Agreed. It's easy to get some of us riled up over NOS, but at the end of the day, we all share the same common interest! I'll be sure to pay more mind to my tone.

See the post above yours from DizMe: you've enhanced the experience for a handful at the expense of the majority, I don't think you've stuck to Walt's intentions.
not "hating" just pointing out the obvious bias of catering to a very small group with no thought of the vast majority of visitors/patrons/customers.

Yeah, I get that :( I just CAN'T believe that it is true. I have to have faith that the exterior is not finished, and that it will be amazing when they are done.

I was told they are not finished. I believe they will be finishing, but it will take some time.

The new logo is actually much prettier than I thought initially :goodvibes ...We had ears embroidered for my daughter on Thursday which is the only day all year that they do embroidery on C33 items I was told...

I for one am very sad that we all (and our families and future families) will never be able to enjoy the beautiful Court of Angels again. I don’t begrudge the members of Club 33 the beautifully upgraded area. That is great for them. What is not great for the rest of us is what looks like shoddy work in the placing of a window, etc, and less theming of NOS. Hopefully all of this will be fixed or, in the case of the window, disguised by the time work is finished.

I'm very glad they decided to tone down the princess look! This is a vast improvement over what was originally rolled out:

I didn't know that about getting C33 items embroidered on Thursdays. Thanks!

That is awesome!

I’m sitting on pins and needles; the first lunch crowd should be being served at Club 33! Pictures should be available somewhere soon. 
I really believe because of the closure to the members that they rushed for an opening date and have more to do. There was so much detail applied to the DCA renovation this can’t be it. The members need to get something for their memberships, and a 7 month wait was long enough for them. I bet we see exterior décor added as time goes on to re-theme all the new construction.
Since, technically the Club is no longer at 33 Royal Street do you think they will renumber the other addresses so it will remain 33? :tink:

Check Twitter. A bunch of pictures have been posted there. @AllEarsDeb has been posting a bunch or you can search the "Club 33" hashtag.

Isn't it much better? So Disney to make it great :goodvibes

And I was sadly unspecific - they ONLY did embroidery LAST THURSDAY for the WHOLE YEAR! ;)

Lunch on right now!

Dang, I don’t Tweet, and I know nothing about it or Instagram. Can those pictures be reposted here? I'll go check out Mousewait. :confused3 :tink:
