Clowning Around on the Boardwalk! A Wigdout Trip report

We are going Aug. 16, it is the week before school starts for DS. It also was the cheapest one of the summer. The price has gone up though, because the cruise is filling up. Our thread is pretty active, a lot of the same people from my last cruise are on it. It's a good group. When are you going?
We are cruising right in the middle of our next Disney trip June 4 through the 8th. We'll be at the Beach Club before and after.....:beach:
:D I dont mind answering some questions!! We showed up about 15 minutes before it started and asked for reservations so we didnt have before hand. They told us to be there a hour before Wishes and we got in line as soon as we paid, They started letting people in around 9:05 after they gave us wristbands and showed us to our seats. So if Wishes is scheduled at 9 I would get there around 7:45 or so to get in line early.

Hope this answer's your questions. I would check your CC statement to see if it was 46. And if so I would call and make sure your ressie was not for a Adult and a child.Because thats around what the total would be. ;) May 4th you should come to Stitch Tta and Astro Orbiter and look for me!! I'll be working!

Are you working Mother's Day weekend?
If so, are you interested in meeting two sweet little girls and their crazy adults? :rolleyes1

You all must meet up with her! She will love everyone especially Brooklynn and Bella! You all will love her too!

Hi Wigd......just stopping by to say "Hi"! I was very sick last week so I am completely behind on all TR's, big and small. Since yours is the largest please tell me - did I miss an update? I see a lot of enabling going on, but I didn't unearth an update yet....should I keep looking??????
Update coming! Did you see the Beach Club offerings? I thought there were a couple that you would be interested in yesterday!:goodvibes
Anita, I am pretty sure we will love the HHI resort. I have been reading everything I can find about it over on the DVC thread, and everyone seems to adore it. One person even said it was truly Disney's best kept secret. I know the area itself is lovely.

Oops, was that me enabling...:lmao:
I'm still looking, but Uncle Sam has us in a bit of a funk at the moment....
Thanks! I bet you are right, they probably did put it in as one adult/one child! I'll check that right now.

We will be at the MK all day on the 4th, so we'll definitely come by and look for you! Do you know what hours you are working yet?
I know for a fact that you need to meet up with Julia! She is just a sweetheart! Plus she loves for DISers to find her! I posted the picture so you would know who to look for!
You should be so ashamed of yourself!
She was just being helpful, I did mention that I was waiting for her opinion...
I am! I am! :eeyore:

;)

Love the wink, it says so much!:goodvibes:laughing:

Are you trying to tell us you need a banner in your signature, too???
I think she can borrow mine....
Maybe we can just get tickets for Trent and Jamie, they could come out with enough to feed the whole group :goodvibes
They are rather good at it!:thumbsup2
Back to catch up after lots and lots of cocktails last night and suddenly have the urge to visit the VB site for some shopping :)
Either the VB website or Ebay, your choice!
I can't believe this. I posted yesterday from work, and then, since I didn't manage to get home until after 10 last night, I checked in again this morning. There were 3 or 4 new pages of posts, yet still no update! :confused3

I'm waiting... ;) popcorn:: :lmao:
I think I missed some of the chit chat from this morning on my responses.....
You betcha :thumbsup2
Perhaps a couple of strawberries!
Maybe we can just send Jarvis' Mom instead! She might get out an entire table in a backpack and we can have a party in the middle of Main Street!
I think Jarvis' mom could do a number on that buffet and I only mean that with the greatest respect!:goodvibes  That poor woman would probably be mortified if she knew she was being discussed on an online forum.:rolleyes1
Oh good, 'cause when I checked my ressie, it said 2 adults! Yay for a lower rate!! Hope that doesn't mean we get shorted on the desserts though

The time thing is so weird, I wonder why my ressie time says 8:20 :confused3 Oh well, I'll get there a little before 8 for our 9:00 Wishes!

I can........but I can't guarantee I won't eat it before it gets to you........ :rolleyes1
Use restraint.....
There ya go! I'll lend them my new Vera Bradley bag to put it in
It would take that new Vera bag to haul that big baggie!:rotfl:
Day 1 of the trip report... can't wait!! :upsidedow Hope you're having a good Saturday!
Day 1 hasn't happened yet but as soon as these responses get finished that's what is going to happen!
And it only took 40 pages :rotfl2:
I think I'm embarrassed:upsidedow.
I spit out my soda (thankfully, not on the laptop.) at that comment. Is she the one who brought back ribs or something? One time my MIL took brownies from CM and I think a waiter saw her. I was mortified!
I think it might have been a prime rib....
Well, once it's on your plate, they are going to throw it out, right?
What's the big deal if you take it?
Feel free to post your thoughts....
Deep discussion topic.

Okay I have busied myself all day and came to sit down and SEEE if an update of any kind is here yet... popcorn::

Only a lot of funny chit chat about ziplocs, Hilton Head, Veras, and Disney desserts! ;)

Just a typical day on WigD's TR!!!
Hi there!
Up next....
Day 1.
I'm working on that just after I post this!

Maybe we can just send Jarvis' Mom instead! She might get out an entire table in a backpack and we can have a party in the middle of Main Street!

:lmao::lmao::rotfl2::rotfl: Jarvis' mom would be mortified to know she's been talked about online!

I didn't realize jewjubean(sp?) worked at MK. Thanks for posting her pic. I think I saw her wehn I was riding the TTA.

That will be cool cruising in the middle of your trip. You can rest up (well, maybe!) on your cruise. Cruises are much more relaxing than going to the parks! Don't get me wrong, I love going to the parks and I've been there way more times than on cruises. (I've only done 2 cruises!) It's always fun to do new things. I can't wait to try out the new slide at CC!

We woke up, not very early to drive about 5 hours to fly out of a new airport in Missouri.
This would be Marc (Shocker).

and me, Miss Anita Wigd.

We normally fly out of Wichita but found much better airfare out of Branson MO so off we went. Didn't have to leave until nearly nine in the morning.
The drive went smoothly.
Thanks to my Iphone I was able to facebook and DIS so actually the drive went fast.
I smelled a skunk if you were following on facebook, and I read a couple of chapters of a book that needed to be read for a book study at school.
We arrived at the airport near Springfield, MO early.
Marc let me off near the door with the bags.
Headed to long term parking.
It wasn't far away.
We couldn't find the Airtran counter.
Guess what?
Wrong airport!:scared1:

Off he went to get the car.
Picked me up at the door with the luggage.
Off we went to the BRANSON airport.
Didn't I say Branson in the first place?

Time for a story from my past......:cloud9:
Back in the 60's when I was really young.
My grandparents had a cabin on Tablerock Lake near Branson.
They lived in Springfield, MO.
There was no super highway to get you there, just a windy highway through the Ozark Mtns.
Grandpa Luther used to load us up in the back of the pickup at night and off we would go 8 of us kids (me the youngest) driving slow, traffic backed up behind us to the cabin..... us waving and making faces.
That cabin had an outhouse.
Silver Dollar City only had a train and a cave...
Branson had the Baldknobbers!:rotfl2:
It sure has changed!

Anyway making that drive makes me think of those days.

On our way to the correct airport I suddenly realized that I forgot my flatiron!
We stopped at a Bed Bath and Beyond.
They had a Chi.
Crisis averted.:yay:

We made it to the airport with time to spare.
This airport was like a visit to Wilderness Lodge, see what you think!

Animal tracks in the concrete directing you which way to go.

A place to feed hungry travelers.

As much as this didn't look like an airport it was! This is when when and where we were going

DSCN3751.jpg

Airport chairs for sitting, but wouldn't be good for sleeping.

Spending some time DISing....

DSCN0609.jpg

Soon it was time to board and after a quick flight we were in Orlando and at Pop Century Resort!
Cont. in next post!

We checked in hoping for the 50's or 60's building and as luck would have it got the 50's building, ground level!
Couldn't have been happier!

Off we went in search of our new digs....

DSCN0610.jpg

Very, very big bowling pin!

DSCN0611.jpg

I texted MeMom to let them know what section and room we were in and then we headed off to MK for a late night for a couple of old coots!

Me texting....:lmao:

DSCN0616.jpg

We were hungry so Casey's was our first stop and corndog nuggies was our pick!
Can I get a yum?

Then over to CP for some pictures, so pretty at night!

We rode POTC and BTMRR. Staying at the park until closing. This might have been a first for us!
We wandered out of the park just after midnight and caught the bus back to Pop.
The next day we would get up to take a look around then check out and head over to Boardwalk.
We were also excited to get a look at Flower and Garden!
It had been a long day.
So we got back, called for our luggage and said goodnight....

An update!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

I  Casey's corn dog nuggets! I can't wait to eat some in June. ;)

I can't believe you went to the wrong airport at first, that's hilarious! At least Branson & Springfield aren't too far apart, that could've been a disaster! The Branson airport does look a lot like Wilderness Lodge, very rustic and relaxing.

The first day!!! Yipeee!

Iphones are so great for passing time aren't they?

That airport is hysterical! It seems too, I don't know, redneck/cheesy/daniel boone!

Casey's - here's a YUM for you!

In that picture with you and jewjewbean what bag is that that you have? Mailbag? hipster?

That's an interesting airport.
Ahhh the MK at night :cloud9:
Can't wait to see BWV photos. Are the 2 bedrooms at BWV lockouts or dedicated? I saw a room layout on a website, but it was a lockout. Can't seem to find one for a dedicated 2 bedroom.

I think it might have been a prime rib....
Well, once it's on your plate, they are going to throw it out, right?

At a non-buffet restaurant I think it's fine. At a buffet it just sounds wrong. I can't really explain that's just my opinion.
Wrong airport!?:confused3 At least you still had plenty of time to go to Bed and bath and catch your flight. That is the coolest airport ever! Yay for arriving to POP and getting to go to MK. Sounds like a great first night.

Nothing like Casey's! I'm always hungry for that food...
The guy at security was concerned that we wouldn't make our flight but we knew that we had plenty of time, and we did!
It was a peculiar little airport.
:cutie:

That Iphone made the time fly by! I found a portable charger at my supermarket so now I can take it along to charge my phone when we are in the parks! I've heard there is a solar charger as well, I need to look for that too.
Well since that airport is in the Ozarks we could probably call it hillbilly....
I have the mailbag in the photo. It's just a little bigger than the hipster. Isn't it cute?
:goodvibes

The Branson airport is cool~~ at least it has some personality!!

I LOVE my iphone. I had no idea how attached I'd be to it. It's like my own tiny laptop.

I also love the MK at night. There's something so magical about it. I can't wait to share an adult trip with Sam. I'm hoping he'll come around to the idea!

Oh my, you have me wishing so very much that I was in WDW this evening! :cloud9: You will not get a yum out of me on corn dog nuggets :rolleyes1 but I realize that they are a favorite of many. Love the pic of you texting!

The Branson airport (once you got to the right one... ;)) looks really cool! Glad the potential flat iron crisis was averted. Now the truth comes out and we know where your daughter's love of the flat iron comes from.

Can't wait to hear more about your adventure! popcorn::

Yay, an update!!

That airport is something! It does look very similar to my home away from home earlier this week.

I'm glad you posted a picture of Julia. I read name tags when I was in MK but didn't see her. Will she still be working in June? Now that I have a face to look for it'll be much easier!

You added a day at the beginning of your July trip, right? July 2nd or 3rd? If it's the 2nd then we'll still be there!!

I am going to miss that roomy hutch. That was great for keeping things up high - safely away from little hands. It is definitely time for upates. That carpet looks pretty rough over by the door.

I texted MeMom to let them know what section and room we were in and then we headed off to MK for a late night for a couple of old coots!

I thought you'd be exhausted, and you were out running the streets at all hours of the night!

I just love the architecture of so many Disney buildings.
This one is so pretty.

We were also excited to get a look at Flower and Garden!

As are we, very soon! :thumbsup2

I thought the exact same thing when I saw this picture. I liked having all the drawers and shelves!!

Yay! 41 pages in and you finally started your TR! :lmao:

Thanks so much for posting the pic of Julia, I'll be sure and look for her on our MK day!

I can't believe you guys went to the wrong airport! :scared1: Thank goodness you had plenty of time to get to the right place. I actually think the Branson airport is kinda cute - it fits the town :thumbsup2

Looking forward to the F&G pics!

I think I had to go back fifteen pages since I have not be around since Wed.

First of all I choked on the new title in your signature...and the picture of the hutch of Veras... well that is funny too. Sadly I have a lot too, so I can't tease.

Glad to finally have a trip update....you have to get this done before your next trip!

HHI points... that is what I want, but I bet you have some before me!

It sounds like you had a great first night. Just the mention of Casey's corndog nuggies made my mouth water. That will be one of my first stops in June.

Add me to the list that will miss the hutch at Pop Century I loved the shelves for storage of snacks.

YAY! :yay: Day One is posted!

I can't believe ya'll went to the wrong airport. Good thing you weren't running late. If it had been us, we would have been turning in on one wheel, late as always, and then we would have been in BIG trouble if we were at the wrong place.

At least you got to the right airport, which I need to say is a very bizarre looking place for an airport. I must say I've never seen an airport that looks like that!

Sounds like a great way to spend that first evening at MK! :thumbsup2
