Are capri pants with socks and tennis shoes, and short sleeve tops with a sweatshirt tied around the waist a good all-day plan for the females in the group? Will we be too cold in the evening? Are two pairs of long pants for each person enough for a six night stay?

i would bring a jacket too....but yes the layered idea is a good idea..that is what i plan to do...i will be there the first week of february and that is my plan....have a great trip....

We went the last week in January in 2001 and it was in the 50's. We wore jeans with long sleeve shirts and took sweatshirts or hoodies with us. It was colder in the morning. (kids had to wear hoods) Evenings weren't a problem because of the parks closing early, we were back in our hotel by 6 or 7. It did rain one day and was pretty chilly with the rain, but it ended quickly. Of course, it was too cold to swim.

BUT - - the payoff was VERY short lines - the longest was 20 minutes for Dumbo. We've gone in various seasons and January is my favorite.

We just got back and it was around 70 during the day, but you definitely need a jacket or sweatshirt for the mornings and evenings.
I will never go on a holiday weekend again. Last week there were hardly any lines, but from Friday through Sunday it was horrible!!! The lines were so long. Still had a great time though.

We're heading south on Saturday ... I've been checking www.accu-weather and it looks like the high temps are going to be 68°-73° so I figure the GK (7&8) will be fine in pants and short-sleeved tees with a *hoodie* or spring-weight jacket.

I am going to take a few long-sleeved shirts (evenings) and a pair of jean capris for my GD and my GS's pants are the zip-off type, so if we have an unexpected heat wave they won't melt.

It sure is simpler to pack for an August vacation ... you know it's going to be HOT!!!

Memaw-
We are leaving for Disney within one HOUR of each other! Hope you and your grandkids have a great time. Pray for good weather and no rain!

We're leaving today, in about 5 hours! I really need some sleep but am too keyed up. As to what to pack, well, that's been the main question for the last few weeks. I watch the weather report every day. A few days ago it said the weather would be highs in the 30's and low in the 20's with rain pretty much all week. So off I went to Walmart to buy sweats, hats, gloves, and planned to pack our heavy coats. Then, today, after packing all that I saw on Weather.com that the weather is going to be much milder. Rain is still predicted but not as much and more sunny days. Plus the temperatures are predicted to be around 60's day, 40's evening. So, unpack the heavy sweats and pack some shorts, short sleeves, etc. Actually I'm taking a little of everything. Light clothes, sweats, hats, gloves, etc. Its better to have some items you don't use rather than wish you did. My mother was the queen of overpacking. She used to say "You can always take it off but you can't wish it on." How true! Of course, if worse comes to worse and you're just totally unprepared for the weather you can always go to WalMart (they're everywhere), but that can waste a half day or more of precious vacation time. One tip I got from this board--always bring two pair of shoes for everyone in case of rain. Shoes just don't dry out that fast in the humid environment.
