Do you hang your clothes outside on a clothesline when the weather gets nice?

As a kid I saw it all the time, although, when I was a kid dryers probably hadn't been invented yet, hehe.

It was always fun to race out and grab all the clothes off the line when it looked like a storm was approaching.
And when the neighbor kids got a game of hide and seek going, those sheets made the best hiding spots, lol.

I hardly ever see anyone use clotheslines now. The spring-like weather made me think of them.

I have a clothesline but barely use it anymore..I do like to hang out rugs after washing now and curtians..Have not hung out other stuff since last year in spring, I will probably hang more out again if the weather stays nice and I go out and wipe off the lines...

I have a clothesline and I use it occasionally- I hung our sheets out yesterday as a matter of fact! Sometimes I feel like it takes longer than the dryer.... probably because it does.... and I use the dryer to get the laundry done FASTER!

My Mom used a clothesline in our backyard all the time...we even had those long wooden thingys you could prop the line up with!

I'd love to have a clothesline, but we have so many birds in the area though that I know it'll all get pooped on!

ohhhh, I actually yearn for a clothesline, but the way my house/pool/yard is set-up I can't have one. I really miss the smell of clean sheets after having been dried outdoors (never liked those stiff towels, though). My neighbor still has a clothesline and uses it. I can remember my mom even hanging clothes out in the winter and having to take them inside frozen sometimes  We have a lot of neighborhoods in our town that don't "allow" them:rolleyes:

I have one of those umbrella type outdoor clotheslines and I try to use it some during the warm-weather months. I hate hanging towels and jeans out though, too rough and stiff when they're dry! But everything else is fine, and smells so good! I'm not quite as ambitious as one of my neighbors though, she hangs clothes out year 'round. I don't see how they dry in the winter without freezing first!!

I have a clothesline, and when the weather is warm enough I use it all the time.
I really like to hang my comforter out, My washer is big enough but the drier is not. Plus I love the smell of linens that have been dried on the line.

I had one in the old house, but the HOA won't allow a clothesline if it can be seen from your neighbors house. How can I have a clothes line that can't been seen from all the two story houses around me? I miss it. I used it all the time. I hate to dry clothes. They wear out so much faster, and shrink. When I finally move, that's the first thing I am doing. Putting up a clothes line.

Just used mine yesterday for the first time this year. Always use it for the "unmentionables"

...ever since I was little and I went to bed and felt something in between my toes under the sheets and when I looked, it was a CATERPILLAR and it was all squooshed in between my toes and it was GROSSSSSS!!!

I'll take the safe, reliable electric clothes dryer with a nice-smelling dryer sheet anyday!;)

I use my clothesline when the weather is nice. I love getting into a bed made with sheets right off the line. I'll hang the towels out but not the socks and undies...too many little things!

I used mine yesterday since it was a beautiful day. We try to use the clothesline in the warmer months to conserve energy. But, my mom always used a clothesline so i'm use to it. Even in the winter we hang certain things up instead of using the dryer, saves on shrinkage. I will agree with Dopey Sharon, socks and underwear get thrown in the dryer year round.

This is what I do too. In fact, usually over a winter, we'll get one or two wash-hanging Saturdays. Not this winter. I've been stockpiling sheets to wait for the clothesline!! LOVE those air dried sheets!! Summertime I hang everything but those socks and undies!! And on a really HOT day it seems to be faster than the dryer!

My mom used to hang stuff on the clothesline all the time and did so until just a few years ago when the umbrella line broke. My grandparents had one too that was on a pulley system. I loved hanging clothes there. I would put up a line like our neighbors do but I often forget that they are out there, heck I often forget there is stuff in the dryer, and then they get yucky if it rains. Maybe if I wasn't so lazy....

I'm sure there must be some clause in our homeowners' documents that say clotheslines are illegal!

No clothesline for me. :(

I'm allergic to just about every grass and tree in this hemisphere, and hanging the wash out to dry, would just get all the pollen on the stuff I just washed. :(

I can't use a clothes line either because of allergies, but I saw something about a week ago along the same lines that brought back lots of memories! Someone had all their blankets hanging out their windows in their home, airing them out. They were just hanging over the ledge. My mom used to do that all the time! I loved seeing that! :p

Boots uses a clothes line or at least I did before the rainy season started. I hang just about everything but dress clothes on it. On jeans and clothes I bring them in and throw them in the dryer for ten minutes and they soften right back up!

I have a clothes line and use it all the time in the nice weather. Wanted to hang out clothes today since it was so nice out BUT my annoying neighbor was burning leaves and tree branches in her yard.
