May I just ask, what's the difference? Are pantyhose the more sheer, thinner material and tights dark and thicker? I always just kinda thought they were one in the same.
Do you mean "skin-toned" pantyhouse? I won't even wear those and I'm pushing 40. I guess there is not a right age for them. If she wants to wear them, go for it. I don't see it as inappropriate.
Dd13 would wear tight or leggings with boots, bare legged with shoes. She wore a cute little cocktail dress to a Bat Mitzva last month, and had bare legs, as did most of her friends.
I'm in my 30's, but most of my classmates are in the 18-22 years old range. We had a ceremony a few months ago and I was the ONLY person out of 100+ females wearing pantyhose. No matter what style of dress, all of the other women wore tights or or had bare legs. I felt very, very old.
Is this a trick question if you are a grown woman that wears tights?
We live in Florida--so we only wear that kind of leg covering when it is cold or we are doing something really formal. Even then I will go for a thicker hose than a traditional panty hose.
My girls have the tan dance tights they wear for recital--so I'll have them toss that on if it is too warm for tights, but they want to dress up their outfit.
In reality--we avoid that kind of leg covering as much as possible. In fact they were aghast at having to wear tights to mass on Sunday--but it was just too darn cold (40s) to go bare legged.
