Clothes question

I say wear what you want, I dont think its inappropriate for a young girl to wear pantyhose. I don't really like tights or pantyhose so I just wear pants :lmao:

Obviously by all the responses panty hose are not in style right now. If they were I would say that middle school is the earliest I like to see panty hose on girls. I think they look silly on little girls. I would tell her that tights are girl panty hose and what the women in church wear are for ladies and leave it at that.

Like I said earlier I didn't know they made tights in other color besides red and white and black. Next time I'm in town I'm going exploring for tights

I don't know that there's an age cut-off. DD16 still wears tights regularly. Pantyhose are reserved mostly for performances(she's in a show choir.) I guess when she gets off age to work professionally, she'll wear pantyhose. But right now she prefers to wear bare legs or tights to hose.

I'm 32 and I wouldn't be caught dead in pantyhose. I do have several pairs ot tights, however.

Panty hose are a fashion "don't" for sure!! Never never never wear them...blech.

I have to ask a serious question.......

If you work in a professional office what would you wear w/ a skirt and dressy heels in the winter in the north?

I have both tights and pantyhose. It all depends on what the style of the dress or skirt I'm wearing is on if I wear pantyhose or tights.

To me it would look ridiculous to have bare legs w/ a work outfit in sub zero weather.

Not in "the North" here but I did go to college in the mountains where it was often below 20 degrees in the winter, and now live in a place where it is usually around the 30's and 40's in the winter and I wear dresses but NEVER ever panty hose. I wear tights or I go bare legged :goodvibes

I work in a corporate office in NYC and most of us wear tights with dresses / skirts along with tall, fashionable boots in the winter. And it's a somewhat conservative company. I have black and grey tights that I get a lot of use out of in the winter.

While they do make tights for adults, I find that tights for plus-sized adults are a very rare bird. Those of us who are larger sometimes have little choice but to hang on to traditional hose in situations where we have to wear a dress and cannot go bare-legged.

In my case it's all a moot point, anyway. I've developed a skin condition that prevents me from wearing any kind of tight fabric on my legs unless it is pure silk. (I'm allergic to wool and synthetics now cause the skin on my legs to bleed.) I can find silk longjohns but not silk tights to fit.

I don't wear skirts at all anymore except in the most casual summer situations. I even [gasp!] wore a trouser suit to my last job interview.

Oh, and PS for the OP: seventh grade.

Dd13 would wear tight or leggings with boots, bare legged with shoes. She wore a cute little cocktail dress to a Bat Mitzva last month, and had bare legs, as did most of her friends.
\
My DD's are the same way they always go bare legged. DD15 went to homecoming this year bare legged. I tried talking her into it and she told me they are out of style:scared1:
