Closing Time!

Who was your title company?

I only ask because I raised my concerns to one of mine after frustrations and I was given a reimbursement of a portion of my closing costs for the wait and issues, at the very least it covered the same day notary I paid for and softened the blows.
It was mason title company. I finally emailed last week and asked about closing because I said it’s already been 2 weeks. She said seller just signed today and we have you set to close this week. It just doesn’t make sense to me. I paid in full with my contract. I just don’t know why it took so long for closing.

Who do I reach out to for that 😂 this whole process I felt like I was lied to by my agent, I was ignored I called her 2 times and left a voicemail and never heard back. Then I called Disney myself and was told it wasn’t even sent over to ROFR until a month later. I am very glad it passed ROFR but they stated taking back contracts at my HR so I’m grateful mine did pass. But this whole process has been prolonged so long.

Ask them why the deed hasn't recorded, 3 days isn't the usual, in my experience (3 times) it has recorded the day after closing (unless a weekend of course, they dont record on weekends)

After mine records, I always email Disney members admin to make sure everything was received on their end. They should receive everything on day of recording (my experience 3 times as well)

I do ask for the date they received everything as well to make sure it matches recording date and my countdown begins and marking my calendar 14-21 days out is in! It takes them a while to email back so the second i see it has recorded, my email is sent.

Hang in there, it will all soon be a distant memory and if addonitis hit, you'll be purchasing your next one soon 🤣🤣
Everytime I go to email my title company person, I never hear back hardly 😂 I emailed and asked when closing would be. Since it was 2 weeks she said she received seller documents and I was scheduled to close this week. But this whole process has been so long, I’m just annoyed at this point. lol I wanted to add on 2-3 days for our October trip. But availability is very slim now lol vs a month ago.

That is really disappointing that Mason is being so dismissive. They are my preferred title company and have always been responsive to me. Closing has usually been about 4-5 days after sellers signed. With that being said, I literally emailed them like every two days 🤣🤣 I do think they could be a little faster, but with you its taking too long and not making sense. Not sure who your title agent was, but in the future, Jordan Jones at Mason has been really great to me and I used her twice.

The Disney members admin email is members@disneyvacationclub.com

They are the ones who the title company forwards the documents to and then handle the membership processing. They are a small team that can be reached thru email only. It takes about 5 days for a response.

They will give you an exact date of when your documents were received by them if you ask which is really reassuring and they'll tell you it takes 3-5 weeks to process which is usually incorrect and it is much quicker, id say average now is around 14-21 days.

I'm having a similar experience with Mason. My sellers haven't returned their documents, yet. It's been a couple weeks since it passed ROFR. I only know that's the reason for the hold up because I asked. I'm irked enough to pull the plug if it doesn't close by the date on my contract.

It can’t close until the seller signs. Sounds like your sellers took longer than you did.

They have to have things notorized and sometimes it takes time to arrange schedules or even online services.

Title company will typically close in a day or two after everything is in.

The recoding is done by the county. If the title company sent it, its not out of their hands in terms of how long it takes to show.

Hopefully, things will move faster.

It's the international sellers right? Are they using the remote notary service that Mason offers?

I would email Mason and ask what their plan is for signing and if there is a date set. If they're going to the embassy that takes forever just to get an appointment.

I think they can use Mason's extremely convenient and fast remote notary at an extra.cost because they are international.

Mason has always taken me like 4-5 days to close after seller signing. 7 days if there's a weekend in between.

If Friday comes I tell them please if you can close by next Thursday so the deed will record on Friday and the clock will start ticking for Disney on the weekend, because they do process memberships on the weekend, I would really appreciate it.

I was told 3-5 weeks yesterday when I asked and they did give me the actual day of reciept like you said. took about 2 days for a response.

Yes, my email said that deed recordings can take up to 30 days. I really hope that that’s not true as this process has already been so long lol

It really is torturous! I remember during my international process another Disboarder was going thru waiting too and we literally DMed each other daily for support, we both were going crazy 🤣🤣
That was literally the one girl and I on Reddit 😂😂 she put in an offer on the same contract as I did 😂 but she ended up getting another one. But she already is done witty the whole process and already booked her first stay 🫨🫨 not fairrrrr 😂😂😂
