Closing in on goal...

As many of you know... I follow a low carb way of eating. I have been doing so for almost a year now... cheat free. :)

I am closing in on my goal weight and size. My atkinsversary is coming up in about a week and a half. I was hoping to reach goal by then... still possible... but won't be the end of the world if I do not achieve that mini goal. However, I have lost 5 lbs this week and am now 140 lbs... which is 5 lbs away from my goal of 135. I have lost 40 lbs cumulative since starting low carb. I am now a loose size 8 ... probably could fit some sixes right now. My goal is 135 lbs and size 6. I started out at 180 pounds and a size 16.

Just had to share that in my push to get the final pounds off... I have been KISSing - which is "Keep It Simple Sweetie" essentially Atkins induction on steroids (no nuts, no artificial sweetener, no dairy, no processed anything). I have KISSed many times along the way and always have good results... but to be honest... it IS somewhat boring and hard to do long term. However... if you are stalling or need a push to get to a mini goal - I would strongly encourage you to think about this. I plan to keep KISSing for a while to get this last five off... and to continue my Curves work outs which have been helping me to reach my size goals.

Oh, I am sending you extra pixie dust that the KISSing will pay off for your Atkinsversary! :) You are doing such a great job! Loose 8s, you'd better go buy some celebration 6s!!!! I know we'll be hearing the HIP HIP HOORAYs from you soon!!!!!!!!!!

Can I ask how tall you are?

Im 5'2.5" and currently 139. Just got myself into a size 12 - well they are loose. Doctors office suggested I get to 130. (I know I'll want to go for 129 just to say I left the 30s behind). I cant imagine ever being in a size 6!

I am 5' 4". I NEVER would have fit a size 6 at 135 lbs when I lost weight before on high carb/low fat diets. The miracle of low carb eating is that you lose FAT and keep lean muscle.... honestly before I was just a smaller version of my fat self when I lost weight on low fat plans. Body fat is getting very good for me now. I am at 28% body fat right now.

Exercising is another essential element.... the lean, toned body we all wish for.... does not come from diet alone. I work out at Curves 3 or 4 times a week... I have been doing this for over two months now... and it definitely has contributed to the smaller body size.
 

Thanks for the link DD...I am going to take a look at it. You are absolutely right about being a smaller version of your fat self. That is exactly how I felt on "low fat" diet.

I am wearing the same clothes that I wore last year when I was in the 140lbs. I am now 152lbs but my body is different...I can't explain it but I seem to be shrinking differently, and in places that don't usually come off as easily. I am working out for the first time in 10 years, so I am sure that has something to do with it too.

You are an inspiration to all the people who have recently started Atkins. I know you will get to your target, I know you said that it doesn't matter when but I hope you get to it for your Atkinsversary.
 
Congratulations!!! That's so wonderful to be so close!!! Wahoo!!! And to think you've gone a YEAR without cheating!!! WOW!!! That's an even more impressive accomplishment! You should be VERY proud of yourself!!!! Here's hoping you reach your goal really soon!
